I pulled the Rod Strickland in '96(rarest card in set) and have since bought most I have been able to find. Subsequently, I now P.C. him

I wonder if anyone here had attempted to hoard as many copies possible, of any player from these sets....doesn't even need to be a big time player. Imagine that someone hoard 100+ copies of a player/ex-player say, Bryant Stith.

Congrats on pulling an autographics from a box! It's sweet to be able to pull one from a box even though for a role player.

Have been dealing with matters outside of hobby lately, very slow to build these sets.

How about anyone else?

Still on the hunt for a ‘98 Rodman and a moderately priced ‘99 Barkley.

Oh wow, I haven't seen these beautiful cards ever since I was in high school. Man, they were awesome. It sure does bring some great memories and sad one. If I remember correctly, I might have one of these auto in my binder. Didn't care for the condition of the card usually slapped them inside the 3x3 loaders in a binder (lmao). Dumb dumb me, I lost my binder of my collections when I was playing in an arcade place. But wow, congrats man. Definitely worth collecting. Congrats!

Just bought 11 of the 96/97 Autographics last Sunday. Making some progress on the set. I could have bought 10 more but price was more than I wanted to pay.

It’s a marathon, not a sprint. 96-97 was the first Autographics set I completed

Yeah true, but when you have an opportunity to pay 35$ for these 11 cards, you kinda speed you know...
In fact I could have bought 25 for 90$. Maybe I should have, but my brain wasn’t ready for it.

Hope that everyone did great. Not many activities/breakthroughs lately. I only acquired a low-end 1998-99 blue ink parallel.
It goes nicely with the regular version that I myself pulled about 20 years ago.

The big names are very sought after, without a doubt. However, I also found it a little surprising that even the blue parallels for scrubs, such as the ones above, aren't easy to be tracked down either.

==============================

Much attention was paid to Kobe's passing....his passing made me think again why Fleer/SkyBox couldn't include him on these sets back then. For the record, Kobe did sign for the company - just not on the Autographics sets.
The Kobe Autographics card, regular or parallel, would be one of the most iconic cards in the hobby.

I wonder who won the Rodman? I was in it till the last 5 seconds. Guess I’ll wait another 10 years for one to be listed.

Was it the 97-98 version? What did it go for?

I already figured out who got it, guess I’ll never have a shot at the next one since the next highest bidder was also over 3k. I remember when I first started building the 98-99 set way back the comps were 500-750.

Bump this up to see if any of you have any progress toward completing any of these original sets. Due to other financial obligations, I missed out on a 1998-99 Iversion black ink auction. Oh well.

I have 2 if anybody’s looking...Sam Mitchell and Chris Anstey

I'm still on the rope about completing one of these years. I've picked some tougher ones in the recent years but haven't committed. Don't have any 96-97. 97-98 I have Rodman, Walker, and Marbury. 98-99 I have Iverson. 99-00 I have Bibby and Walker which I hear are tough ones as well as VC and a few commons. I missed out on Kendall Gill a while back, didn't even put a bid in.

I also want to ask...does the current COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic slow down everyone's set building?

There is a 1998-99 Kevin Garnett blue ink parallel currently on eBay, or those that are interested. It is an overseas listing.

Just noticed that a 1997-98 CM listing of Pippen ended last night.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/124162298917

If anyone here won the card, post a photo after you receive the card!

And I finally surpassed the count of 100 for building the 1998-99 regular set. lol
With a bunch of non-star players in the set, I should have done that a while ago.
