File a complaint with the State Attorney General. Takes very little time and is worth putting some eyes on these clowns.

Hi friends - I've never sold anything on COMC before but recently moved and am looking around at all the inserts I have. It's got me wondering - does this stuff actually sell? I'd happily offload, say, 2019 Topps Series 2 Baseball inserts for $0.50-$0.75/each but I don't want to pay COMC $0.35/each to list them, and then they don't sell. I also don't want to get stuck paying $0.01/each per month to store them if they're going to sit. I just don't know what the velocity at COMC is like. Advice from the experts would be appreciated. Thank you!

At the present time, they are not accepting items at the 35 cent Basic Processing level. It is not known if or when Basic Processing will return, nor when it does return if it will still cost 35 cents. They still have a couple of 50 cent options. One is for 3 week "guaranteed" of "Normal" cards. The other is for 6 week processing of "Obscure" or "Vintage" cards. Obscure includes non-English cards, and hard to identify set / year. Vintage is 1980 or earlier. Also, "Guaranteed" doesn't actually mean they guarantee processing in 3 weeks. It just means they will give you a 20% discount on those items which show up late. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT in your first batch include anything which you do not expect to sell for many times the submission cost. Ideally, you should be sending items which have a legitimate retail value of several dollars, where the lowest COMC price is also several dollars (or where there are zero copies on COMC). This is in Advanced Reseller Mode, not Simplified Shipping Mode. You can change modes in the Settings section on your Dashboard. You want your early submissions to pay for later submissions. If you pay 50 cents to process a bunch of 75 cent cards, you will either have to pony up more money for your next submission, or you will have to wait a long time until you have enough to pay for your next submission. You might even have to sell for a loss, and never recover the original submission cost for the first batch. Also, be wary of cards from current year sets, because there might not be any on the site when you're looking now, but later on, there might be a ton, and the price might be much lower than it is now. Sell them in bulk lots - I've run across a couple of guys buying inserts at .10 per delivered - just count them up - no list needed.
Much better than shipping to COMC - paying to process (2019 and earlier will cost you .50 per card) - waiting for it to sell. Quote:

I'd be happy to sell in bulk lots. Where have you been able to do this? |

eBay would be the best choice for selling bulk lots, IMO.
They work best when the items have some reason to be sold together - all the same player, or all of the same team, or all from the same set / subset, or all with the same attributes: Auto / Memorabilia / rookies, etc. Last edited by checkoutmydeals; 03-07-2021 at 02:23 PM. |

Sent in my first batch of cards for both current year and 3 week. The 3 week is suppose to be done tomorrow. Do I have to put a price on every card immediately?

No, they will show up in your account as needing prices. You can price them at your discretion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the reply! So I noticed it says progress 10% and none of my cards are actually available to price yet. What happens if they do not meet their 3 week guarantee? Do they decrease their fee or does the guarantee mean nothing?

Sent 8 items to auction, 4 popped in my account back as normal and are heading for auction. Not sure where the other 4 went again...whole reason of sending them to auction after saying I wouldn't was to build quick credit. Hoping they don't make me wait a month with no response again.

The Progress Meter doesn't mean much, especially these days. At one time, COMC would process an entire batch at one time and there were something like 17 different steps. So, taking delivery of your batch was one step. When that happened it would say "1 of 17 Steps Completed (5%)" or some such thing. Now, they tend to break batches apart and tend to process them in clumps by type. So, all of the auto cards might show up, and all of the memorabilia cards might show up after that. With COVID, things have been even more erratic. It appears they are breaking apart batches and possibly processing them away from the main site. I have one batch of 1200 (Estimated) cards submitted in March 2020, where 1130 cards have been processed, but it still reads 20% finished. It could be that it is 100% finished. I have a batch from 2014 that reads 99% finished, but I presume it is actually 100% finished. If the cards are late, you are supposed to get a 20% discount on the processing fee. You don't have to price them right away. You don't even have to price them at all, ever. The one caveat is that you get a certain amount of time with free storage, and the clock is ticking once the processing is complete. I think it's 60 or 90 days. Basically, June 1 or so, since they only charge storage on the first day of the month. |

The waived storage fees for cards listed over $1 in basic mode is 90 days from the time they're first priced. If you never list a card for sale, it accrues no storage fees, AFAIK. Also, many of these questions have been answered over and over again, so please read more of the thread. Or go to the COMC blog and search for keywords, because any time they change a fee, they email all sellers and make a blog post in advance to warn you about it.

I have a guy that I use not on BO - I've seen buyers advertising it here in the BST from time to time as well.
Just count up 1,000 cards - list a general idea of what there is and price it at $100 delivered OBO and see what shakes out. Rinse and repeat. You could try eBay but you'll need to be okay losing 12% or so - as an example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2020-Topps-...kAAOSwz0JgE3n3

I did an expedited shipment in November. Should I still be waiting for my cards?

Does COMC automatically adjust prices for cards that are on ebay? I swear I was looking at a couple in the $14 range, and today after a PSA 10 sold for $120 they were $24.

If the seller changes the price on COMC, then the price should update on ebay.

What was the estimated ship date? If it's past that, you shouldn't be waiting.
