They definitely need some kind of big time playoff release with a star studded roster. The days of keeping the market afloat with Bertans rewards are long gone.

Need to finish the season strong or else it'll be a long, cold summer (barring some major MJ announcement or the likes).

NFT’s in general seem to be loosing steam. I signed up for the new UFC Dapper project and hopefully that has another quick flip start...If not, time to cash out and move on.

I think it’s a relatively low risk purchase now that we know KD and Luka are holo challenge rewards, so even the worst pulls are going to be valued. The floor of the expected return is raised by those but the ceiling is much lower without them in the pack. Plus 3 mgle and I don’t think anyone is losing much on this pack. It’s not guaranteed 3-5x like previously though.

Going to be pretty angry when holding 50+ moments and completing a challenge probably isn't enough to be eligible.

They've been messing with the collector's score a lot when it comes to pack availability. Kind of sucks because I'm not sure if there is a way to see your score.

You might be right...I did not see that Luka and KD were the rewards and I also just looked at all the series 2 Holos for sale and the lowest is $774. They have really held their value..Add in the mgle’s and it does seem to at least not be a negative EV.

You can see your score on momentranks, just don't look at your account value if you bought in February.

Just search your TS name - https://momentranks.com

How stupid is that? Based on what I'm seeing less than 10,000 accounts would be eligible at 2000 collector points for the pack. What is that about 2% of accounts? How can you only have 2-3% of your accounts eligible to buy a pack? I guess being in the top 13% means you're sol.

your TopShot account, they both calculate your score for you based on the maths in
the blogpost that introduced the Collector Score...

I agree with 2k being too high.

Under the current score, im at 1064, and according to MR, thats around 43k or top 8.1%

I understand rewarding the initial group of users, but what is the incentive for a new/newish user to work towards even having the chance to a Legendary pack? I get the whole loot box issue, but youve got to somehow allow people to walk in with a few bucks and walk out with a a real hit. Otherwise the rich just get richer (so to speak), and your only chance to hit a big one is to lay out a large initial investment.

I think it has been hinted at 2000+ collector score or a certain threshold in marketplace spending.

I know these packs are supposed to be for a select group, but this feels like giving a tax break to the 1%. I know not all new users would spend $1k on a pack, but dang, this doesn't install a lot of good feels for newer collectors who are trying to get started.

Might be something where that’s the group that is largely cashing out and they want those people to be incentivized not to sell ? Does seem counterintuitive for them to limit it so much but they have a lot of information that we don’t have.

The list of Holo Icon moments was leaked...the YouTube channel ‘Ballers Blockchain NBA Top Shot’ has it and actually goes through each clip. Video is titled ‘Every Holo Icon 3 moment we’re getting! Worth it?’

Yikes...some of the 30 Holo clips are cringeworthy that they are considered Icon moments. Fred Van Fleet, Serge Ibaka, Chris Middleton, Sadiq Bey, Darius Garland, Kuzma, Clint Capela...etc.
If the KD and Luka (sweet moment) are the challenge rewards, then this will be a disaster with Zion amd LeMelo being the only really valuable pulls. I can easily see many of these dropping to the $300-400 range after this drop.

The 2k came from Jacob on discord. He walked it back a few days later saying it was still being discussed.

From what I have seen via discord, the 2k is widely viewed as a poor choice and will only incentivize the highest ranks of users.

Like I mentioned above, they have to figure out some way to appease the 'loot' issue while still giving people the chance for a hit. Otherwise this whole experiment just becomes the 1% trading money with the 1%. Users want a chance to score a big one without spending crazy money. Otherwise, why not just go play with options, or throw down on some crypto and see if you catch a big upswing. If 95+% of users are only relegated to common packs, I dont see the general user base expanding that much.

Yeah I also am not even sure they will get enough demand for it with the limited group. I would probably qualify since I have put way too much into this but not sure I can stomach putting in another $1000. Will have to see what the EV estimations looks like.

Yeah I agree with this. Need to find a way to mix all of them into one type of pack.

How is this any different than a high end case price? How many casual collectors can afford to [or even find] open a case of Exquisite/NT/Flawless ?
