I know the Yankees need Stanton’s bat but I would have taken him out of the game after that baserunning display. Especially when you have Verlander a pitcher they normally do nothing against on the ropes. It wasn’t so much getting thrown out at home it was the effort displayed that made me want to puke.

That was embarrassing. He literally had a slow home run trot going trying to score from 2nd. I’m 99.9% sure I score on that. He literally looked 80 years old.

Third base coach did not seem to signal any sort of urgency to Stanton. I feel like he moves much quicker on his home run trot than whatever that was

People will blame Stanton all they want, but I agree with you 100%. That’s on third base coach and on deck batter all the same.

No. Run hard. You stop when you cross home plate. Really quite simple.

Sliding is something the on deck batter can help with.

But not running hard on a ball in play is 10000% on the runner.

I don’t disagree, but what is the purpose of a third base coach if he’s not going to let him know to get his butt moving?

BOOK IT !!!! 3-1 nice outing by Cortes and the rest of the pitchers and just enough offense to get the win. At worst a split with the mighty Astros I will take it.

If that is as hard as he can run maybe baseball is not the sport for him, try bowling or golf.

He was waving. Thats about it. He can yell too. But he also expects the runner to be running hard, or he would not have sent him.

It seemed like he slowed down almost to a walk halfway to home. Bizarre.

Will be interesting to hear his postgame comments. Always good about holding himself accountable.

I didn't get to watch but I'm shocked they beat Verlander. This team is maddening. I actually put 500 on the Astros.

It's a bittersweet feeling. I'm actually more happy they won. Guess they were due lol

Maybe he misses Donaldson as that was something he would have done.

Isn't that the first time they beat Verlander this year? I think they lost both times he was a Met.

I'm actually shocked they took 2 of 3 so far from the Astros. This series should be good for the Yankees psyche.

I can't even remember the last time we beat Verlander. And we barely beat him. But it's a loss on him.

Yep can you imagine if they take 3 outta 4. Hopefully Rodon can figure it the hell out.
