It’s a generic one like for collectible figurines I believe. There’s a ton of them on amazon

Haha. It’s the acrylic case used for vintage Star Wars figures. I just happened to have an extra one. It barely fit inside, but it fit.

That’s incredible. I ripped 4 hangers and 5 blasters so far tonight and the best cards I’ve pulled have been a Mize SP variation (230) and a Andres Gimenez #’d to 50.

I did get 2-3 of all the rookies but unfortunately all of my rainbow foils and golds (and blues) have been duds. Did hit a nice Trout, Robert and Acuña chrome ‘52 though.

12 more blasters to go

That's not a bad haul so far! The next pack/box will be huge! That's what I tell myself all the time, I wonder why I can't keep any sealed wax!

Finished my first hobby case this evening, here are a few of the top hits. I must say the Buster Posey partial rainbow is a dagger for a Dodgers fan, hard not to crumple every one of them!

Not pictured are a Tatis SP and a couple of others that have already moved on to new homes.

Looking forward to moving on to case number two tomorrow.

We opened our first batch - 2 Hobby Boxes and 4 Blasters.

The Hobby was ho-hum but we hit the Bichette Red 1986 Parallel numbered /10 in the blaster boxes.

Also...agree...the '52 Chromes are sexy.

I actually found some hangers, they are limited to one only so I bought one hanger. I like the new hangers they are like the panini ones were they open from the side.

I got one non pitcher rookie:

If production is up 30% across the board as it's looking like with the hobby and jumbo numbers, you can probably estimate 170,000 factory sets this year (and 170,000 more of each base card when they come out).

BTW, I've calculated 6,729 cases of hobby and 8,619 cases of jumbo so far (the first number agrees with a previous posters calculations) however I've yet to see someone do a breakdown of retail or blasters. Are there numbered exclusives in blasters?
I was thinking about it last night for the market thread and I decided this offseason feels like 1986-1987. Part of that is I remember quite a bit more 1987 Topps than there was 1986 (ie big production increase) and singles prices also went crazy that offseason.

No. Repeat after me. You will likely never see another product like 2018 Update in your lifetime. Write it down 100 times, sing it in the shower. Whatever you need to do until you realize that you'll likely never see another product as good as 2018 Update in your lifetime.

Man the good old days of getting 12-15 bucks for Kevin Mitchell 87 topps cards. Those were some wild years.

Never say never. Topps chrome update with a limited checklist of a true rookie for wander and one or two others of Adley, Vaughn, Tork any of which could get called up would do quite well. ‘18 might have it on print run but it’s easier to say 3 years later after the 2 bug guys from 18 have flourished.

Got 6 Blasters in this morning and should have 4 boxes from Topps coming in today (order glitched and gave me two orders of two boxes). Not a bad start from the blasters; Robert and Baez SP's, Joey Bart Orange Ice /299, Trout, Bellinger, Acuna, and Pearson 1952 Refractors.

I opened 2 blasters the other night. Other than the rainbow foil with about 1/4 of the foil pealing off, the condition of the cards was good. I just opened 1 of my 3 hobby boxes and the centering is horrible. Almost to the point a few cards may even be considered miscut.

I guess there is a silver lining in the production increase is that if centering is bad across the board, the POP numbers may be low

Opened two blasters so far, nothing worth posting. Two more blasters and two hobby boxes on the way still.

Autos from some of the boxes I opened. Opening 1-2 boxes is fun but opening 10 is a pain.

Always get slightly disappointed when you realize your hobby box has a relic and not an auto. Got almost all of the base rookies before getting the Bohm /50 in the last pack.
