That's my understanding. Might just be the Monday PR numbers but the language he used implies something else. Guess we'll know soon!

Dude, this thread is 585 pages long. Do you really think we haven't talked about it?

If you're a seller and a buyer tries to return a card months later, talk to ebay. They'll side with you if it's clear they're returning because of a price drop.

The idea of doing that for literally hundreds of cards pains me but I'll absolutely do it if there isn't a better option put forth.

I know people have discussed calling eBay/Paypal customer service as well and explaining the situation (aka the "magical card defect that appears after 3 months") and finding some success in the past. There's also the possibility of selling before the peak (aka getting out early) with the hope that your sold cards exchange hands at least several times after you've sold them (making the return process impossible... a kind of It Follows approach to card returns).

Apologies for brain dumping here! Would appreciate other people's thoughts on the matter.
Too many heads are in the clouds busy counting the money before it's even secured. I wish I knew the answer. Trying to figure it out in the event that a speedy exit is necessary. Right now the best I can come up with is shopping it locally, off eBay (which has a massive number of headaches itself).

Is it possible, sure but highly unlikely. Ultimately, it's on the individual to do the right thing.
I have never and would never presell anything. I only sell when I know I have the item in hand.

I'm aware that conversation has been had. That's far from concrete however.

Nothing. It might take a day or two longer, and when Topps is already 3 weeks behind in shipping, what’s the difference

It's an issue that has and will always be a problem. I don't seem to remember it ever being an issue. If you're concerned, sell here.

Personally, I'm not concerned at all.

It's the risk you have to take to play this game. If you're looking for a risk free investment you can buy a CD at a bank.

If I had a a few hundred grand in project cards right now I would go out of my way to take 25% less to sell in person.

I personally went through all of this on a $2k card only a few months back, so am speaking from experience here.

Had a buyer purchase a card, upon receipt he listed it at significant markup. Let it sit for a month, didn't sell it, and then filed chargeback saying "card looked better in scan than does in person". My listing states no returns, yet eBay approved return immediately and to make it better I had to pay for his return shipping label and provide full refund upon receipt. Spoke to eBay CS and they said doesn't matter he tried to flip, if buyer states not as described it is an instant return approval.

This is what scares me on these prices running up, who is the actual end buyer? Are these prices being eaten up by speculators or collectors buying and tucking away? Either case, if prices wobble, there are going to be returns that are hard to swallow.

Isn't this kind of an ignorant comment? What kind of person who is interested in CDs is in the Project 2020 game? I'm probably one of the least risk-averse people you'll ever meet frankly. Willing to risk it all if the edge to be had is large enough really. It's just not good business to not have thought out the exit strategy though.

I'm definitely willing to take less to make a deal off of eBay and I think this is going to be the way I go. Just going to be a pain in the ass to find buyers.

Everything.....I could start a new thread and write all the bad things about it but i won't waste my time.....I'm a former USPS worker and for years we had to deal with all the smartpost mail.....Total pain in the ass

I've talked to people who ordered 2020 Bowman 1st Edition boxes that still haven't received theirs and are going to have file claims to get their $ back
