Would you like to see the correlation between those as well?

Generally speaking, the more diverse the school the higher the educational scores.

Generally speaking, the richer the school the higher the educational scores.

Generally speaking, the Republican states are:

-Less diverse
-Poorer

It is what it is.

I assume Atlanta schools rank poorly in their states rankings. But I don’t think Atlanta is republican. Think it’s more democratic.

I dunno? Georgia sucks.

Again, macro vs micro. So in your example, Atlanta isn't enough to flip the state democratic, but is enough to bring all the scores for the entire state down.

I had always heard that you can't throw money at the education problem and that money isn't the answer...

Yeah I know all those areas that scored high. Fulton was #30, being propped up by the norther part of the county I assume. Dekalb county didn’t even break the top 75. They were heaviest democratic voters by county in the state with Clayton county. Gwinnett county ranked #21 and Cobb county ranked #16. Those are the four main counties.

Long time lurker, first time poster in this thread. I am registered as an independent, but my views mostly align with classical liberalism. Mostly.

To answer your questions, I do not like Pelosi. I doubt most of the democrats like her, but the outspoken and far left do. I think she behaves like a child far too often for my liking.

I think Biden would be a mediocre president. I think his cabinet selections though would be significantly better than Trump's cabinet. Same for his choices for other important positions.

It is what it is.
You will see the best test scores not in the cities and not in the less populated rural areas of the country. They will primarily be in the suburbs of cities. What is the correlation? It is not political affiliation whatsoever. It is money driven. I live in the suburbs of Charlotte and I will tell you that the majority of the people I know with kids who are doing well in school are both equally Republican and Democrat. The commonality is being financially secure and valuing education, not political leanings.

Again, micro vs macro.

If we're taking it on a state level, which is all I stated originally, the states that tend to vote Republican generally have lower marks for education.

If you want to argue it on a micro level and find the nuance, sure. I wasn't doing that though.

Are all Republicans dumb? No.
Are all Democrats smart? No.

Do the states that are made up primarily of Democrats rank higher in education than states that are made up primarily of Republicans? Yes.

I would like to know who they polled with SurveyMonkey but if this is legit, ouch. This is especially telling...

“ Among the highest are a trio of moderate Republicans who have distanced themselves from Trump — Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) at 85 percent, Vermont Gov. Phil Scott (R) at 82 percent, and Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker (R) at 82 percent. They occupy three of the top five slots, and six of the top seven are Republicans.”

49 of 50 governors have better coronavirus poll numbers than Trump

New York and Jersey at 11 and 12. Something is wrong with surveyMonkey.

What does one do when you are moderate on a lot of major issues but cannot stand what either major political party has become?

Hope each party goes full bore to the fringe ideal that a third party becomes a relevant option.

Last election I voted 3rd party. Previous 4 elections I have gone back and forth. Basically at this point I like to see a balance of power between both parties as I feel like too much of either is not a good thing.

It gets complicated when both parties produce these types of candidates for President though.

Why doesn't trump just wear a mask when he enters these plants and hospitals?

It doesn't make him weak

Just wear the mask to be example and to shut media up

It's not like FDR wanting to stand up when he called for Congress to declare war in Japan
