Those of us that have been in from the start, or for awhile now, are going to be more than fine. Even when these future cards skyrocket. Let them skyrocket! It just makes what we have more rare by comparison, thus driving up price.

I'll take my 2x, 3x, maybe even 5x on some of the upcoming cards and I won't be worried. Some of you are expecting 10x or 15x. Hate to break it to you, it isn't gonna be the norm like 1-80's been.
So 1 thru 80 are the valuable ones? Would 1 thru 10 be even more valuable?

I don't think or expect every card to be worth tons. I do think there were a lot of people not really aware of this set when it first came out. Compare the print runs of cards 60-80 to first 40, they increased a lot on their own without the crazy pump of the last 4 days. There's greater demand than the original supply. There are also a ton of flippers pouring in, eventually this will balance itself out, but a trout card of which there are <3k is going to carry value.

If anyone would have done it, i think it would have been ermsy, but I wonder if anyone will make Trout a giant fish.

Why you think he is crying about any of this is beyond me. And again, you're also assuming he isn't sitting on a full set or 7 for himself. Boo freaking hoo.
There is no comparing this to ANYTHING IN THE HISTORY OF THE HOBBY! Saying you lose money on boxes and business is business is nothing compared to Topps Project. I don't see how you figure he turns a profit. Even if he pays no tax he pays $14.50 a card. 13% ebay fees that already takes it down to maybe $1-$1.50 profit per card. I don't know anyone that can ship these for under $2.50 a card. Give him 5% back on a credit card rewards however unlikely he is still losing. Even assuming he is getting the best possible no tax and credit card rewards he is still losing money on every card he sells. He may be a little ahead because of the 3 1/1's he has received. I'm sure that was a big reason he started it to begin with.

Through card 86 Topps Project was a once in a lifetime opportunity that will never come around again

Nice. Half the amount of fanny packs as money bears.

Give me my yacht.

While I do agree on the value of the Trout, I’d rather buy a PSA 10 2011 Topps Update than drop the $$$$ on the Ermsy.... that’s just me though...

Guys trying to explain the dynamics of “it’s just a print” to card collectors is irony at its finest.

Can i buy the remaining 300 cards at $20 a card MSRP from topps and spend $6,000 and walk away with $9000 when it’s all said and done in January? (Sell on average for $30 a card for the remainer of the set)

Most of you would say absolutely and that $30 a card for the last 300 would be a steal.

If this is the case then why isn’t everybody buying these to try and make an easy profit?

Buyer fatigue won’t set in as long as these can be flipped for any kind of profit.

And thousands, including mine, haven't been received yet. When the print runs are 100k 250k+ and there are several thousand listings or tens of thousands of listings no new card will hit a big price again.

Haven't checked...but last one ended at like 7 Benjis a few days ago.

I only got 5 because they 'weren't part of the official set.'

Brilliance.

I appreciate them not undercutting each other for a 5 percent ROI.

Presumably a lot of the orders are multiples from the same individual, so these probably won't be popping up much.

I'm all about hearing the opinion of those on the opposite end of the spectrum of P2020. Your assessment that these cards are reprints is incorrect. They are unique cards in their own right. Some dont even look similar and are only inspired by the originals.

If you're talking about the cards not being original art....check out each artist's website stores...they are sold out of quite a few prints at $150 per unframed.

As far as being serial numbered, the print run announcement is enough. Check out the SP pricing in Topps,Heritage and Chrome.

Again, it's good to have your opinion in this thread. It'll keep people grounded on expectations.
