So if there are any Killer Klowns from Outerspace fans here, I randomly stumbled upon the Chiodo Brothers store and they sell some pretty awesome art prints related to their work for $40 shipped and they'll come signed by all 3 brothers if you request it.

Late to the party, but finally watched "As Above, So Below"...while the handheld cam schtick is getting old, I liked the correlation between the story and Dante's Inferno (white text just in case it's a spoiler) which is also a favorite of mine.

Solid 7/10

I went to see Pet Sematary Saturday night and it was pretty decent. Lots of creepiness and the kid did a great job but for whatever reason it just felt like a long episode of Tales from the Crypt more so than an actual movie. Also the Dad was terrible in it!

I watched Mercy Black on Netflix last night and it was actually really good, I'd recommend that to anybody looking for something a bit different. It's kind of like their version of Slenderman mixed with true crime.

Saw "Pet Sematary" last night. I thought it was a lot better than the original, never mind the dreadful sequel "Pet Sematary II". Pretty creepy atmosphere thoughout and a savage ending (basically akin of the ending of "The Mist"). I do kind of wonder, though, what did this family really do to deserve this, especially the kids? Horror movies used to be (and generally still tend to be) morality tales, but in some of them, it doesn't really matter what you did or didn't do. You're just kinda screwed.

I asked a guy at work about how's the new 'Pet Semetary', he said 'Victor is a black guy'......Great review!!
Is there any Ramones music in this one?...

A far less rockin' cover of their classic "I Don't Wanna Be Buried In A Pet Cemetery" plays over the end credits.

You guys are all missing out if you haven't checked out Blumhouse's Into the Dark anthology movie series on Hulu. New one each month and they keep getting better and better.

It's less about what the family did to deserve anything and more about grieving and acceptance and not letting tragedies consume you. I think that was the moral they were going for with this one.

“The Body” was exactly what I thought it was going to be. The jump off to a bunch of horrible short films that would never live up to the initial “episode”.

And to the poster that waxed poetic about how every horror film had a message back in the day? Where is the “moral” in “Hellraiser”? “Chopping Mall”, Black Christmas”, and so on? Then we have the new school in “Inside”, “Frontiers”, “Switchblade Romance”, “Martyrs”, “A Serbian Film”, and so many others. I’ve gained a great deal from those films, but I don’t count on them to teach me life lessons. Horror is an art form. A genre that is always overlooked and belittled, but generally the one that makes you think the most. You want “morals”? Watch a Kirk Cameron movie.

Your bar for what constitutes poetry is extremely low.
However, I can rhyme, so here you go:
"Hellraiser", for one, is a morality treasure
Warning that seeking forbidden pleasure
Leads to ripped flesh, lost souls, too high a cost!
(But I suppose that wouldn't matter to one who worships
A group of known cheaters and their degenerate boss.)

The moral of the story in the movie 'Audition' is that piano wire has many different uses..

Pet Sematary sucked - it was boring/bland and the ending ruined the movie imo...one of us...one of us...one of us...Gage was far creepier than anything in this one unfortunately

Looks good. (And I can't stand the kid, but his looks and this roll will gel nicely)

Watched this today on Netflix and it's really bad. For being a movie about a serial killer, you don't see him kill anyone until the last 2 minutes of the movie, and that kill is in the trailer. The movie basically chronicles bundy's jail escapes and then his murder trial in Florida. A lot of it is inaccurate. They barely give you any of the details about the crimes. Skip this and watch conversations with a killer: the red Bundy tapes instead. That's a really good docu-series on netflix.

Did you ever read the monkey's paw in school? Same thing and this is what it's based on - there are really no more true artists left in Hollywood, only money mongers afraid to take any risks on truly original ideas - this affects this remake quite a lot and every other movie - it's like nerds have taken over the film industry

Not quite true. There are plenty of creative, innovative people there, they just don't get their stuff produced as it's not clones of things that have made money in the past or remakes of 1980's sitcoms/tv shows..

Hollywood producers have no balls.

I'm looking forward to "Midsommar", the new movie from the director of "Hereditary", out in early July. I get a real "Wicker Man" vibe from this one.

As for creativity, there's very little new left under the sun. Pretty much all of it is a tweak on something from before, if not an outright copy.

The greatest comic book writer there ever was or will ever be, Alan Moore, said he gets a lot of his best ideas by looking at existing stories and just turning the knobs a little bit, that is, changing one aspect of it early on and seeing where the new story goes.

The super-hero horror hybird "Brightburn" is certainly doing that, being a Superman origin story where the child is no Clark Kent. "New Mutants" is doing the same, Marvel super-heroes with a horror twist.

The source material for the upcoming "Doctor Sleep" the sequel to "The Shining" is superb, probably Stephen King's finest work this century, so that has a chance to be a winner, as long as they stick to the book.

It doesn't have to be new to be good. It just has to be good to be good, and there's still plenty that is.

Yeah, Hollywood really pisses me off....take a fricken chance these wussies

Also, there's a GI Joe episode from the 80's cartoon that I am absolutely convinced that The Force Awakens basically "borrows" the entire plot of....I can't remember it though lol
