The variance is high with Wemby. If his 3 isn't dropping, he looks awful.

He also has games where he doesn't pass the ball much. He at least had 7 assists against the Suns, which is good for him.

Wemby is 7'4 shooting 34% on 9+ 3s a game. If you don't think he should be shooting the ball you should go watch a different sport

The earliest Wemby goes the Giannis route and starts mastering the mid range shot, the sooner he'll reach his potential. He'll be unstoppable if he develops a decent 15-20 footer.

Giannis is a 46.8% shooter from 15-19ft this season

Wemby's eFG% from 3 is 51.5% this season

Would be awesome for Wemby to increase his midrange efficiency to just become all that more well-rounded, but it would be foolish to trade a more effective 3pt shot for a less effect midrange one

I completely agree.

I'd like him to have an Hakeem level post-mid range game in his bag.

But him shooting 3s also allows him to be 1st back on defense.

His shooting the past month has been incredible

A solid midrange wouldn't hurt, but the ultimate perk is if he can add another 15-20 pounds of functional strength. He doesn't have to jump to dunk. So long as he has a base that can allow him to consistently gain good low post positioning, that's going to be his foray into NBA invincibility.

He's putting up some really gaudy numbers this year, but the offensive consistency still isn't there (he'll follow up monster performance with a 15pt outing). His post play will ultimately determine his career upside. But as it sits right now, his floor is crazy.

I know it's the trail blazers but another impressive outing! Really starting to string them together. Keeps this up and and his going to start creeping into the MVP conversation.

He went 4/8 from 3. 10/11 from the line. And had 10 blocks in 30 minutes.

I don't know. I'm more in the camp of he just turned 21 and he can let it fly because we really don't know where his ceiling is. Maybe logo 3's is where his range is and right at the 3 point line will be almost like a mid-range shot for him. Who knows? Let him rip it. The trajectory is as good as it gets.

Make no mistake, I am a believer long term that he’s face of the league.

It’s pretty simple tho, to become that, you need to not jack up a bunch of trash acting like your Steph curry.

If he can become a taller/longer version of KD he might get on the NBA Mt. Rushmore. That means jacking up as many 3's as it takes to develop the in game skills needed to get there.

Lower levels: don’t care about your basketball talent, big guy, athletic guy, your the only one who has a chance, jack up everything and develop

Higher levels: athletic guy, keep jacking up trash, develop through your weakness at the expense of everyone around you

It has become a garbage product at every level

I'm considering going for a BUC 1st Wemby auto since that's the only technically licensed card that exists with an auto right now but I'm not sure

What are the odds that Fanatics comes out with a "rookie auto" of wemby after they get the license and people gravitate towards those instead? It's pretty clear by now that the topps chromes haven't really had much staying power

It's pretty funny to see how wrong the "stop shooting 3s crowd is"

I never thought they'd be sitting at 15 and 13 at this point. Could you imagine pairing Wemby with any other elite guard?

He's had 2 poor shooting nights from 3 in a month and both times they were trounced. Seems like they kinda need him to shoot and make them. It's a far better option than the other crap the Spurs do.

You can really tell those that watch basketball and those that don't.
