So much stupidity and ignorance in this thread. Makes it easy to see why we got the result we did. Carnies and rubes...

But nothing was burned. Or destroyed. They didn't boycott. They didn't assemble in mass and scream profanities.

Millennials don't know how to lose. They've been taught by mommy and daddy if they scream and cry, they'll get their grade bumped or receive more playing time.

Doesn't work like that in adult land.

You don't have to like what has happened. But you have to accept that it has, in fact, happened.

How you act is still your choice. How you treat people is still your choice. What you say is still your choice. No one is taking your home, your job, your money, ability to chase your dreams. None of it.

You're pitching a fit.

So when you're done. Get up. Dust yourself off. Accept that you acted like a brat and move on.

Billions of people on this planet would love to have your 'problems'.
Extremely well said.

There is a problem with 18-25 year olds in this country. They can not take adversity or accept anything that doesn't go their way. It's very troubling.

I'm not much older than them, but my generation (for the most part) is mature enough to not act out like they do.

What implied negative result did we get? Do you have a crystal ball?

Since Hillary is ahead in the popular vote, I assumed he was referring to her supporters.

Elections are hardly ever lopsided.
If it was lopsided FOX would have called the election earlier than 1:30am

Took away all the states? Are you just trying to play devils advocate? Have you slept? Those were all battleground states that leaned left and had strong history of going blue. He surprised everyone. We are all Americans and I've enjoyed reading your opinions in this thread but I'd rather not debate this stupid crap anymore. You're right, I don't remember any "destruction" from the right, but lets not pretend they didn't boycott and assemble in mass.

If you'd like I can post some of the flat out racist and offensive signs made for these rallies.

Doesn't excuse the looting and rioting and burning of property happening. Anyone involved should be jailed and prosecuted to the fullest extent, but lets not say that the other side didn't boycott and assemble in a MASSIVE way.

Are you really going to say this generation doesn't know how to lose when the trump campaign didn't even address losing? Aren't you baffled by that?

There are reports of college kids having to take the day off of school because they are so distraught.

That's ridiculous and not normal.

I've got choice words for you.
Did Hillary say congrats to trump right after the polling? NO.
Did trump even acknowledge whether he'd accept defeat? NO.

I'm 23 and I disagree. Both these candidates along with other humans all deny taking defeat. This election shows it.

Looks like she's up 200,000 as of now in the overall vote.

Even if it was him up by 200,000 right now, it's sure not a landslide.

It should tell you what our colleges are like. They're liberal institutions. If you don't think like them, keep your mouth shut or pay the consequences.

Isn't just 18-25. Social media is creating a segment of society that does not know how to experience, counter or discuss an idea that outside of their own opinion. Even the mere suggestion at something outside of whatever opinion or belief they hold is met with whatever -ism, ist-, -phobic handle can be applied.

Reasonable people can have reasonable debates and find common ground or at least agree to disagree. That is becoming a lost skill.

I'd bet you there are.
Today, in my social welfare class in NY, the class seemed defeated dude. It was apathetic. I don't feel defeated at all. I disagree with republicans in general on the tax issues, but agree that they provide a lot for the US in terms of business.

Our class had 2/26 students absent and there may have been one female who voted trump in our entire class. Majority of students showed. It was a sad day for most and myself.

I also take stats. I'd say 1/2 the students are trump voters and 1/2 Clinton supporters. We had 1/5 of 170 students not there.
I'm not sure what to make of it.

Assemble in a mass violently is what I should have said
Every election has push back. And I admitted that there were some awfully racist things said and still said.

The awfulness of humanity will never be completely extinguished.

But what we're witnessing is physically out of hand and out of line.

The one who don't act out physically, were emotionally unstable. Did you see people tweeting out suicide prevention hotline numbers because of the massive amount of suicidal message/posts/tweets? So sad

Maybe because everyone had to stay up until 4am?

You can feel defeated/surprised/angry/insert adjective.
I felt the same way last election understanding how Obama's administration was going to affect my small business and the families it provides for.
But life moves on and you figure out how to make it work.
Do your job. And right now, your job is to go to class.

Once again, first world problems.

Life's too short and we're all too blessed to have the opportunities this country affords - no matter who is in office.
