I'm not sure this season is that much different than any other one..

He’s not demanding a trade. He’s in a slump. I’ve seen him go through them before. Things will click again. But I will say this season is particularly frustrating given that you had the best shot in a long time to make the playoffs. And they can’t do anything. Yeah- he may be frustrated but he had many opportunities to change the course of the game or pull out a win. So it’s not as if he is just looking at others.

I think he might miss the fans and the fan interaction. He seems to have loved that part- dealing with the kids etc. That is gone now. And I think is is more effected than others. But who knows.

Trout strikes me more as a Barry Sanders than an Albert Pujols, when he decides he's done, he'll be done.

Two weeks ago Mike Trout was batting .333 and Anthony Rendon was batting .143. It’s a slump, every player in the history of baseball goes through them. I’ll take my chances that he breaks out of it sooner rather than later

His career average just dropped from .305 to .304.

It's all over for Trout, the superfractor sale broke him. He's just a shell of his former self.

Boo hoo. The best player in the last 50 years is underperforming at a rate that he never has in his career. That's worthy of discussion whether it hurts your feelings or not.

And for the record, no I don't think he's overrated.

You are the only person with hurt feelings here. If someone doesn't agree with your assessment you cry about it on a forum. It's really not worthy of a discussion that he is in a slump. It's very common in baseball to have hot and cold streaks. Now if we are at the end of the season and he's underperformed all year. Then that's worthy of a discussion but less than halfway through and him having a tough week.....SKY REALLY ISN'T FALLING YET.

I think he cares, but I also think there could be some element of he would rather be home with his newborn son and why risk continuing to play when the team is awful.

I just saw they postponed tomorrow's game. Today's game 2 was supposed to make up for Thursday's postponed game. I did not know tomorrow also got postponed. It was supposed to be a 4 game series.

The new plan is now for another double header on September 5th in Anaheim to make up for the other postponed game.
