The first step to re-signing Ohtani is going all in at the deadline. If that results in them making the playoffs, I think it goes from little to no chance he re-signs to being possible favorites.

I agree. Blue is great. Wasn't huge on green until I saw one in person. That is awesome too.

Yep, nearly half the PSA 10 pop on the complete set retail chrome compared to the chrome SP. Even lower on the complete set relics

Thanks True! Good to know the complete set variation is that special gemmed - Heck, one can be had for less than a purple heritage in the same grade and you'd think it was more rare but who knows. Guess I could look that up. Purples, and all heritage in that year in general I guess have centering challenges.

The retail has the most aesthetically pleasing image but somehow lags due to the retail label. Purple heritage has 1K PR but not nearly the rough journey of a square unpadded box traveling through a Walmart distribution center and then to a store

If I'm ownership and Im trying to get him to resign, Im having a conversation with him months ago re: Im trading him in order to get us more talent for him to win with, once he resigns.

If he doesn't resign...at least I got something in return. Angels are dumb though. They aren't doing any of this.

They aren't doing it because they know Sho. He will say all the right things and then politely decline commitment until the results are in. Better off not pissing him off and stomping on the slim chances they have to re-sign.

Was reading an interesting article on ESPN. Makes it seem like he is in his own bubble and the coaching staff is super hands off and let's him do things his way.

I was walking out of the stadium the other night thinking something similar. Also walked by the MVP wall art with Don Baylor, Trout x3 and Ohtani (2021). Angels can't respectably put 2023 next to Sho if they trade him, right?

. Arte strikes me as a guy that would care about that stuff.

I've wondered about that as well. Does he even have a no trade clause

I don't think he does. Even Ohtani said that the best time for the Angels to trade him would have been after his '21 MVP season. He said this last year during an interview close to the trade deadline.

Opened a Topps Now sleeve and found a 2018 Ohtani/Ruth Card of the Week GOLD W-18

I thought I sold it ages ago.
