Murphy is a damn fine contact hitter. He really earned that walk.

Flores is killing this team

We either need a shortstop who can hit or one that can field

We have niether

Pick up the phone and trade for tulo

I don't even care if he only plays 110 games

If we had Rey ordonez on this team we would be a 95 win team

haha, I love this comment from Collins...

"That stinkin' first baseman's dangerous. We haven't gotten him out in four years." -- Mets manager Terry Collins on Freddie Freeman

Familia, probably Parnell when he returns.

Maybe it's just me but losing Mejia doesn't worry me that much. Sucks to lose another bullpen arm, but replacing him with Familia or Parnell isn't a bad tradeoff.

Personally I don't think this is a big lose for you guys. He was a pretty average relief pitcher at best and doesn't really deserve to be a closer.

He was 28/31 save chances last season

That's true. When you've got guys like Kimbrel, Billy Wagner & Grilli closing for you every year you tend to get spoiled and nothing short of perfection impresses you.

I suppose it also hurts since the Mets biggest problem area (well according to the announcers from yesterday's game) is their bullpen.

Who do you suppose gets called up to the 25 man roster now?

Man the braves announcers are lost. The mets biggest problem is their infield defense, then the offense, then the bullpen

They were saying that your offense was one of the positives this year...not making it up either.

As it should be. Five proven hitters in the lineup (Wright, Cuddyer, Granderson, Duda, Murphy) and d'Arnaud and Lagares who have the ability to be solid at the plate (both had shown the ability to do so last year at times). Only major position that's an offensive liability is shortstop.

They look good on paper but they have been horrible so far

Granderson still looks like the bum from last year. I don't want walks from the second highest paid player on the team

Wright looks good so far

Duda looks good so far

Cuddyer hasn't shown any pop yet

Murphy looks lost

Lagares looks like he hates the 6 spot

Darnaud looks good so far

Flores is garbage

They're four games into the season.

The Braves are 4-0, I guess that means they're going to be World Series champs then, right? Two games ago you said Wright was garbage at the plate. He has a solid game the other day and now he looks good...

There's a reason it looks good on paper, and that's because they've proven they could hit. It may not be the best in the league, but this Mets offense should be a lot better than previous years'.

Not concerned about Mejia, with Black coming, but more importantly Parnell coming back, who was our best reliever for some time. Add in Rafael Montero getting more of an important role and it adds up. I thought Montero looked good last night, I'm a big fan.
