Not sure I've ever seen a team dominate the stat line and lose because of 2 stupid turnovers for TD's and a center that can't hike the f'n ball on a chip shot FG attempt that would have been the difference in the game. Sloppy play by Bama and it finally caught up to them. Also at this point I think it's intentional but god d**n Ty Simpson needs to learn to manage the play clock and not take it down to 2 sec. on every single play.
That said I'm kinda glad because Bama is better suited outside of the top 4 because they typically don't play their best ball after a bye week. Last edited by Cracktoast; Today at 07:09 AM. |

New rankings are up!! Yes these are the AP and not the PC, but it's all we have until Tuesday. It is usually a good - but certainly not perfect - predictor of the PC's rankings. How far will Alabama fall? Which G5 team takes over their top rankings? And will BYU fans ever shut the hell up? Let's find out!!
Biggest Gain: We the People can see that the Sooners and the Dukes each gain 3 spots to #'s 8 and 21 respectively. It is significant for both teams with regard to playoff chances as Oklahoma is now sitting quite nicely for an at-large, and James Madison, father of the Constitution, is the top ranked G5 team. Looking at "Others" your big winner is North Texas who went from #28 to #22, nipping at JMU's heels for that top G5 spot. Biggest Loss: Texas is your big loser, seeing their playoff hopes go down the derrick, falling to #17. Alabama drops 6 to #10, so they remain on the cusp of the playoffs. Get ready for a week of Alabamans whining about why they are below Notre Dame. Looking at "Others", Louisville is a big loser going from #20 to #30 and Cincy went from #22 to not receiving a single vote, putting them in a 100-way tie for #40. Best result for a loser: Really it's Alabama who fell "only" 6 spots, but they stay just a shade ahead of BYU for that final at-large spot. Worst results for a winner: The Ramblin' Wreck almost got wrecked by Boston College but managed to squeeze out a narrow victory. It cost them 1 spot in the rankings. Other notes: James Madison and North Texas are side by side at #21 and #22. It is noteworthy that they are each ranked ahead of ACC contenders Pitt and SMU (and could very easily jump ACC contender GA Tech if that team loses to the Bulldogs in 2 weeks). The ACC champ could quite possibly get left out of the playoffs. Last edited by Fenway55; Today at 02:54 PM. |
