I don't prospect or collect BC, but doesn't "First Bowman Chrome" have meaning in the hobby, that goes beyond just "the first Bowman card featuring the player"? Like the "1st" logo is important to some collectors. Sometimes people consider the BCA the "1st". Ohtani's BC offerings are different from 99% of other modern players. It's understandable that Ohtani's 1st BC is open for interpretation.

So what's the point of forcing anyone to acknowledge that 2017 is "first card that Bowman made featuring Ohtani"?

Love the Heritage /999 set from 2018. The contrast of the white borders and darkened backgrounds really make those cards pop. One of the rare times that I'll say the base looks better than the refractors.

Imagine being a great AL player (that could contend for an eventual MVP). Ohtani is traded to the NL for 55 games this season and he still wins the AL MVP. Just when you think you've got a window to win one, but he then returns for the AL this offseason.

This is what I was going to say. That Ohtani card, from my recollection, put Mojo Refractors on the map like Bat Down did for Sapphire. It was a big deal.
