Yep, the issue the past several years has been Cashman and Boone, but Yanks ownership too dumb to see it or accept it.

Cashman is going to yet again destroy the Yankees farm system this trade deadline trading for washed up veterans.

As an O's fan, I hope Cashman and Boone never leave. But it's just unrealistic that they'll stay on much longer with their repeated failures to deliver on expectations and bloated payrolls.

Nothing he has shown so far this year screams he needs to be anywhere near 1 - 4 in the lineup. Higher than Higgy or Trevino? Yes. Higher than Cabrera or Peraza? Yes.

Is Ohtani actually going to start or is he conveniently going to miss pitching against the Yankees since they kick his butt?

That's a miracle considering the article I posted earlier that said Cashman has NEVER done that in season.

I will once again bring this up. The Yankees have tons of great hitters (and pitchers) who played for them. Why can't they hire some of them for actual coaching jobs instead of losers who never did anything in the majors?

Let’s give the fans something to rejoice over, guess what firing the hitting coach isn’t it. Getting rid of some of the players that caused the hitting coach to get fired would be a start. Getting rid of a Manager who seems to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory much too often might help. Getting rid of Cashman who saddled them with some of the worst high paying long term contracts that killed any future growth might help. I am still hoping with a healthy Judge and some of the veterans like Rizzo, Lemahieu, Donaldson and Stanton can at least provide somewhat of their past selves. If Cole, Rodon and German can pitch as good as expected and the bullpen can get some rest maybe this season isn’t a lost cause yet.

I don't remember the last time the Yankees were in 4th place at the All Star break.

Donaldson might be injured. More good news after the hitting coach being fired.

He came back in and finished the game so I don’t think he is hurt that bad.

I am so glad my original plan was ruined and we didn't stay overnight in North Jersey and go to the game today.

Yes it sucks being there in person for a loss. I used to go a lot in the late 90’s so I hardly ever saw them lose and my wife would get the tickets from her employer for free so even when they lost it wasn’t that bad.

Because former successful players have a chip on their shoulder, rightfully so, and they're not going to listen to some sabermetrics nerd exbloviate about launch angle.

The offense is pathetic. We are bottom of the league in hits obp, and avg. With the likes of Oakland and Detroit. Those are rebuilding teams. The only saving grace is the HR ball.

But this has been unacceptable. Offense needs a kick in the ass. Yes we've had injuries and those stats are gonna be better with a healthy Judge, Stanton and Bader. But holy hell step the #@#@#@#@ up.

A few years ago my wife bought me tickets to a Blue Jay's- Yankees game and the stadium/club house tour for my birthday. The game the day before got rained out, so they played a double header on my day. Due to this, they canceled my tour and I got to watch them lose 2 games for the price of 1.

The first time my uncle took me to the old Yankee Stadium was in 1971 and they lost a doubleheader to the Red Sox good thing I wasn’t that impressionable when I was young or I might’ve been a Red Sox fan.

Looks like The Mayor is headed to New York... Sean Casey to take over as hitting coach..

Maybe he will teach patience and the value of getting on base. Career .367 OBP, career high strikeouts in a season was only 88. 477 career walks, 577 career strikeouts in 5644 plate appearances.

Wish we had guys like that

This is one of those situations where I wish I was behind the scenes. To fire the hitting coach and then hire a new one in less than 24 hours tells you that they were pretty much planning this for a while.

I wouldn't be surprised if they shook hands with Casey 1-2 weeks ago and told him that his first day is after the All-Star break. And if that's the case, then was he given access to video and data prior to today so that he could hit the ground running? Was Lawson blindsided with the firing or did he see the signs? How involved was Boone on the hiring process? Questions questions......

I can’t remember if the whole division was ever above .500 at the All Star break either.
