Even if he were traded to the NL, the voters could still (quite reasonably) feel that his contributions to the Angels before the trade were more valuable than anyone else's full-season contributions to any AL team.

Just spent 10min torturing myself, thought this would be fun to share. Saw this listing today:

I subbed a copy of this card in 2019, got a 10, and sold it shortly after. I dug up my submission order and sure enough, that listing is my copy. I won the raw card for $50, and sold it in March 2020 for $90 (to the seller that now has it listed). Crazy.

I wanted to share the April HRC winners that were just sent out. This is the gold parallel. Keep in mind that the red color match parallel will likely be made for July. They should look mighty nice! Them code cards are starting to get costly tho.

I've got a couple of these 2021 Topps Series 1 Cloth Patch's of Ohtani, and am currently pairing down my raw Ohtani collection to take advantage of pricing. When I came to these, I started doing some research and got pretty stumped whether I should sell 1 or keep both. Definitely want to keep 1 as they are super cool, but I'm looking at available inventory on Ebay and there almost isn't any. A guy has one for $200 and another guy has $2,500 on it, yet the last one sold for $20 fairly recently. He way undersold it, just based on other patches in the set selling for more and being in infinitely less demand currently.

Still, I don't know if I'd want to sell one for $100 or something. I know it's a 2021 issue but it's the iconic 2018 image on cloth! Teehee. Maybe I'm over thinking this and should just throw one up on ebay and keep the other, but it seems like this oddball has room for some appreciation in the future. What say you BO?

And no, this isn't an attempt to pump a listing. Don't have any listed yet and am just pondering. I do reserve the right to list one at any time however!

Just because he batted and pitched for ~90-100 games prior to theoretically being traded to the NL, he shouldn't be automatically be given an award over a player who played 150-160 games with his team.

Is it his fault he hypothetically gets traded to the NL? Of course not. But there's 0 chance 90-100 games should win him the AL MVP.

If he gets traded to the NL there’s a much better chance he still wins the AL award than that he would win the NL.

Who said there's anything "automatic" about it? I think I pretty clearly laid out the criteria: "...the voters could still (quite reasonably) feel that his contributions to the Angels before the trade were more valuable than anyone else's full-season contributions to any AL team."

Here are the voting criteria direct from the BBWAA, who give out the award:

Number of games played is a factor, yes. So is value to the team. In fact that's the first factor listed.

100% - this deep into the season he wouldn't be able to put up MVP-level numbers in the NL, even if it weren't a year where Acuna is already running away with it.

It's a 2021 release, from a product that is printed to the moon (base Topps) and a gimmicky card.

Classic example of listed prices having no correlation to actual going rate. All the sales I could find are $20 or less. If you can get $100 for it, you should be ecstatic.
