It’s such a cool card. I was between a Giannis and Mahomes around the release date and went with the Giannis instead. They look so much better in hand. Traded the Giannis earlier this year though. I’m already regretting it.

Not numbered, but definitely are not common. Not sure of exact print run, but they are SP’ed.

I like the Kabooms for both years. Also a fan of the Obsidian Tunnel Vision and Optic Supernova in 2019. Not sure whether it qualifies as an "insert", but the 2018 Phoenix Color Burst is solid as well (not as crazy about the 2019 version, though I had to buy it anyway just because). Many like the 2019 Prizm Color Blasts, though they are really hard to find and quite expensive these days

I grabbed one of those too! I probably own less than 10 2018/2019 Mahomes. Snagged that and a 2019 Optic MVP because they were cool looking cards at great prices. I can't find the Color Burst I might have sent it off for grading. Your pic looks amazing compared to COMC scan of mine:

If you can't afford the Kabooms, you might look into the 2020 Prestige Heroes insert. They seem to have garnered a following similar to the Marvel's insert in basketball.

Ok, this is probably a really stupid question, but what exactly is the difference between a 2018 Prizm "Base Silver" and a "Silver Prizm," other than one goes for about $50 and the other is selling for thousands? I've compared pictures of the two and don't really see a difference... Is the Silver Prizm a refractor and the base isn't?

I think there may be some confusion here..

2018 had his regular base, as well as a Silver Prizm Parallel. Normal Prizm line-up.

In 2017 his base card was also a Silver Prizm. There was no 'non refractor' version.

The big thing about 2018 was that Silvers were only 1 per hobby box and not in retail. Because of that, there were only an estimated 150 Silvers made. And it's Mahomes' first true Silver parallel.

Yes, however, they'll be using them in Tyreek Hill and Damien Wiliams' NT jumbo patch cards.

Nice list. Haven't looked into 2019 that much so wasn't even aware of a few of these.
