Hm sounds like a fun Rip. I should look into getting a box. Beats opening 2020 Encased and getting BGS 8

bidding looks suspect ... two private bidders took it from 3k to 7k in a 60 second span. Also was a 24 hour auction which is pretty uncommon. Also would add its raw, with what are likely scratches all over the case (hopefully not the card), but hard to know for sure. It is very well centered though, so has that going for it. Contenders Optic is one of the nicest auto sets for Luka. Such a perfect card. Plus authentic auto. No LuLU.

Luka Origins auto just sold for $1,900 but the weird thing is it was at $4,500+ with a couple minutes left. That a new scam? Set up 2 accounts, overbid with one, retract win a couple seconds left to let your real account get the card without any competition?

Generally you can’t retract that late.

It’s a scam that eBay for some reason allows to happen. Don’t have a clue why.

I noticed as well. Guess it's another scam we have to look out for.

Card is worth 4k. Bid is at 2k. Shiller 1 bids 2050 with a max of 8k. Shiller 2 bids 9k which takes the price to $8050. No one else bids because it isn't worth that much. Last minute shiller 2 retracts bid and seller 1 wins for $2050 Last edited by Onepocketj; 11-08-2020 at 09:38 PM. |

I’m too scared to do auctions when I sell stuff... BIN with best offer priced a bit higher so I can try to screen people that offer.

Yep. I bid a couple months ago with 5 minutes left on an item. Then I saw PSA and the seller mislabeled it and just retracted my bid. Think it's the only one I've ever done. I posted a guy the other day with 1800 bid retraction in 6 months.

I think I saw you post that. The two private bidders that bid up the contenders optic today each have about 50 bid retractions. That price was double what comps have sold for in the last month, but not sure what exactly the scam would be if there was one, other than trying to manipulate the market by putting that price out there as a comp. The winner was actually a 3rd bidder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

A blue Phoenix Psa 10 just listed on ebay. A red and a purple too. PWCC auctions so it’ll be interesting to see what these sell for.

eBay could correct this is they had a locked bid option. Once a bid is put in and asked if they are sure of the bid, a Lock happens and can only be retracted by contacting eBay and the. They will keep track of the retractions and when a certain number are reached they lock the account.

One account bids a card from their intended win price to a max bid of like 10x, then a “friend” bids even higher thus making the listing of no interest to other buyers. Then at the last minute, the “friend” account retracts their bid and the original bidder wins for just above the high bid from the previous legit bidder. It’s basically the opposite of a shill. |

This is the first time I’ve seen this - sucks because I was watching that origins auto and when I checked and saw it so high I was like well I’m not paying that then didn’t follow it at the end - guess shame on me and will be my lesson in finally setting up a sniping program and hopefully that will keep me to budget on specific cards haha.
