Awesome! Topps probably wanted to close out 2020 and begin their 2021 stuff (sending out set 1 for MC and BDS so quickly). Smartpost shipping to northern California went out today and suppose to arrive a week from now.

16,000 Hoops Premium blasters at MSRP? It's called retirement money. Although that surely is nowhere near enough for the bots. I would bet several bot users have made well into 7 figures profit in the last year. But that will not stop them. They could make a $1,000,000,000 profit and they wouldn't stop. The only way the bots may stop is if they have the serious possibility of getting thrown in jail and heavy fines. Otherwise its only going to get worse for non bots in the future.

I was against the raffle but after seeing what happened today it looks like its raffle or you have 0% chance. Did a single non bot get an order in today? I'll take a 25-50% chance with the raffle now versus 0% chance like it turned out today.

I was anti-raffle because the odds are much slimmer than 25-50%, especially when botters bot up the signing up process. It's more like 2.5-5%. That said, it's definitely better than 0%, even if you NEVER get chosen for a raffle.

Well I thought after awhile the odds on the raffle would be around 5-10%. But there is no doubt in the few times they did the raffle it was higher than 25 and probably closer to 50% based on the posts I've read at least.

I bet it is lower than 25. The winners are more likely to come on here and brag and later post breaks than the losers are to post. While several people whine about not winning (sheepishly raises hand), I'd imagine the vast majority of non-winners just remain silent. There are ways to beat the bots other than raffles, but Topps doesn't seem to seriously address the issue. I'd support raffles on most releases.

We have no idea how many people signed up for each raffle, so it's really hard to say what the odds were, but I think it would be fair to say that A LOT of people did sign up.

As for me, I signed up for 3 raffles and whiffed on all 3.

Changing the topic back to Montgomery Club Member sets. I received my first set for the year today (along with my two BDS boxes which I am contemplating ripping later) and, while not great, got what I think is probably one of the better autos given the player checklist. Maybe take it as a good sign on my BDS boxes.

Not a lawyer but price gouging is illegal in many states. Most of it is applied to life necessities (food, fuel, etc.), during emergency situations. But I saw that in Michigan, the price gouging statute is much more broad,

Legislation was passed a few years that made it illegal to buy online tickets with bots. I don't know if it actually did anything to reduce the amount of ticket scalping, and I don't think anyone was being put in jail for it, but it is a step in the right direction.
