I had a nolan ryan promo card from the early 90's and they sent it back many moons ago from one of my batches. there were a few up on the site one being their account, well Tim's account lowpricedcards or whatever it is/was. the reason was given was that the card was not supported/listed on beckett, but yet there were already some on the site, so it's possible some are getting returned because they are trying to limit the amount. but then again look at you know who's page of $49.75 1992 score commons and tell me they are limiting what is on the site.

edit, just noticed I have not given them a card since 10/2015!! I have thousands I could easily send in and want to...

Seriously, it's on the "How to Ship to Us" page, under the "unsupported cards" section:

Our rule of thumb is that we try to make our service cost effective for cards that sell for $1 or more. However, many cards worth less than $1 may still be worth putting on the site (e.g. vintage commons and commons from newly released products). We use our discretion and return cards that might not be worth going through the system. Typically we only do this when we receive large lots or cards that are primarily commons from the 1980's and 1990's.

Like I said in the other thread, I've never known COMC to refuse to collect the processing fees on any cards that could go on the website...but, the potential is there.

I don't recall anyone posting complaints about getting cards returned for that reason here on the Blowout forums.

So, allow me to ask an honest question - Has anyone here ever have that happen to them? Did anyone ever get a message from COMC saying there were too many of "x" card in their submission, so their cards were being sent back? Or is this individual thinking of something else?

(ok, that's 3 questions...but, they all seem pretty honest...)

If they don't hit on the 7th and get processed later you won't be charged the processing/listing fee. Last shipment I had about $16 worth of cards listed for free because they couldn't get them up until a couple days past the deadline

So I'm seriously the only one getting this? I've e-mailed them twice (Sat and Mon) - no response, and it STILL isn't working. Plus side - like others have said - I requested (standard) shipping on a lot Friday, and it's already been shipped. So, their shipping seems to be great, but other areas not so much...

sent in 15 cards for premium level and 40 for select. due date was 4/6 and they only popped 3. hope it is true that processing fees are discounted for late cards.

not a bad deal if you get a discount. we could use the forum to collude and overwhelm them.....

I was told the system does it automatically, so you should be getting half off on the rest of your cards.

I agree- I got lucky on my last 2 submissions, both well over 1000 cards and both were late- saved me a good bit!

Clearly, I should have kept my mouth shut. Now, on top of a watch list that hasn't worked in over a week - despite multiple notifications & e-mails - I have 23 cards out of my last batch (250) damaged, including stuff I personally took straight from packs to sleeves. No way one of every 11 cards was damaged when it left my possession...

It's SOOOOOO annoying when I've got plenty of money in COMC, but the expense PC card I need is only on eBay. Why doesn't everyone use COMC?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I'd pay extra for it if I could use COMC $$ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because the fees are too high to cash out.

Yep. I had the same issue with a card I pulled straight from my PC. And the scan they sent shows a ding that was not there when I sent it. I'm annoyed by that one bc it was a decent card that probably would have sold for $8-12. Now with the ding it'll come back here and I'll probably just toss it one day.

They'll just tell you that you should have packed it better...

Probably. But that one was literally in the middle of the box in a penny sleeve and none of the others around it were damaged. The box was also inside another box so it didn't happen in shipping....oh well I guess.

I'm finding the people that have their cards cross posted that do use COMC are charging 2-5x eBay going rate. That's more frustrating to me. It sells for $15-20 on eBay and it's listed at $49.99 on COMC. As a buyer I liked it better before they partnered with eBay. As a seller I'm indifferent about it. It's nice to get the sales from there but it sucks not being able to pick and choose which ones you'd prefer to show up.

I get it... but if you could get all the cards you want/need on COMC, you wouldn't have to cash out.

There is no such thing as a "going rate"... if there is it is very flexible and not set in stone. Ive sold cards that were selling for $4-5 on ebay for $12-15 (amazon) and just the other day I sold a card that had recently sold for $10 shipped on ebay for double + shipping on amazon.

Ive also had offers and sales for cards I have listed within minutes, which makes me think I could have sold them for $5-10 more. Ive had other cards I sold that I know I should have not budged and maybe pulled them down and raised the price later.

Well obviously there are other examples. Amazon buyers tend to not shop around much as I sell some through there that are currently listed on eBay and COMC for cheaper. I'm talking about multiple sales that average that and the card has been sitting at COMC for months even years. I'm a player collector first, if a new card I need gets listed on COMC I'll make an offer right away if it's in my ballpark. Doesn't mean I'd spend way more. And it also doesn't mean someone else would spend way more. I tend to outbid most people for the Ickey cards I need, although a few new deeper pocketed guys have shown up recently. When I list new stuff on COMC I get a bunch of offers very quick and it's usually from flippers bc I always price mine initially as the lowest. Again, it doesn't mean I could have or should have listed it way higher. I've had a few flippers buy from me and they're still sitting on the cards months later.

I don't think pricing has changed much, the perception was comc was too high before the eBay cross listing. I couldn't care less if I don't sell another card to a comc user, as I sell enough through eBay/Amazon and even after the 20% they pay more. I think eBay has saved selling on comc

I LOVED buying on COMC before eBay b/c it didn't have the traffic and I seemed to get stuff cheaper if I was patient enough to wait for it to hit there. With the cash out fees, and the eBay 20% it seems to me prices have gone up. I could be wrong, but I've been buying my low end needs on Sportlots or eBay the past few months cheaper than COMC. Again there will be exceptions, but this is my experience in the past 12-18 months.

I just got a batch of damaged in my last order. The sample scan they showed me I wouldn't even mention on eBay. The smallest of white on one of the corners lol. O well 22 cards out of 391

If they're worth $5 or more each, just have them do select processing on the batch by emailing them. If they're $1 cards, ship them back to you and mail them back in on your next submission.

What's even more frustrating to me is when a) about 5% of the cards I buy show up with the same (miniscule) amount of damage, and/or b) I file a "needs condition note" request for a card with obvious worse flaws, and it gets ignored...

In fairness, the watch list issue was finally fixed the other day - with very professional communication from Joe H. So, props on that part...

Freakin' COMC found yet a new way to screw over their customers.

I use their mailbox service very frequently, and to my surprise, they actually processed an order early. 1 Day early. So it sends my account into the negative by two dollars.

Then, I get this email:

Because your available store credit balance is below $0.00, the due dates on the following transactions have been postponed one business day:

Service Level Batch # Pending Items Est. Qty Left New Due Date
Mailbox - Select XXXXXXX 2 2 4/14/2017
Mailbox - Select XXXXXXX 2 2 4/14/2017
Mailbox - Select XXXXXXX 0 1 4/17/2017
Mailbox - Select XXXXXXX 0 2 4/17/2017
Mailbox - Select XXXXXXX 0 1 4/18/2017
Mailbox - Select XXXXXXX 0 1 4/18/2017
Mailbox - Select XXXXXXX 0 1 4/20/2017
Mailbox - Select XXXXXXX 0 1 4/21/2017
Mailbox - Select XXXXXXX 0 1 4/27/2017

So they legitimately pushed EVERY submission date back between 1 and 3 days because they decided to process a request a day early.

This both sucks and blows...but, I doubt it was deliberate - I mean, I'm not one to defend Upper Management (tm) but I doubt even they'd scheme up something this spiteful. It's probably more a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing, resulting in bad timing for you.

Of course, they'd probably tell you this could have been avoided if you initially had more store credit in your account...but, what do I know?

I kinda see your point but c'mon man, you had how many days to put money in your account? It takes 30 seconds and you knew one was coming and tried waiting until the last second to deposit. You know they don't allow negatives. You know you have cards coming. Yet you blame them you didn't have money in there?

Generally I keep about 20 bucks in there, but that day, or the day before, I requested a shipment:

Service: Economy Rushed
Shipping: $25.14 + $7.26 Delivered Duties Paid

Didn't even think twice that my account was at 2.00 or whatever because cards weren't supposed to be processed until the 14th.

Honestly, to delay all the processing because an account balance went negative two bucks is insane.

I think almost everyone assumed that if you have a submission, and it brings your account into the negative, then the cards aren't added until you bring it back into the positive. That makes perfect sense.

On larger submissions, they always randomly add some and there's absolutely no way to tell when they'll be added. This is a huge problem. I mean, just think about it. They're essentially just telling you to always have the full amount in your account because they might randomly add cards, and this is completely fine... BUT they should take it the day the processing starts.

To be clear, we're talking about 2 bucks here and I'm pissed that they're going to nickel and dime me over that even if they hadn't processed something early.
