Cannon-balled The Lincoln Lawyer over the past week.

It was entertaining for sure, but the writing was subpar to say the least.

First Kill - Not very good, but I couldn't stop watching. CGI is bad but the practical effects were okay. Dialog is bad. Acting is okay. Elizabeth Mitchell is still very very good looking.

Season 3 of "For All Mankind" just kicked off with a bang on Apple+TV.
An alternate history of the Space Race, year 3 of the show finds NASA preparing for its first manned mission to Mars in the mid 1990's.

Based on this thrilling premiere episode, I think we've found the mission commander...

Cool

Signed up for the trial month of Paramount+ to catch the trio of "South Park" event specials exclusive to that platform, and those were pretty good.

Next week, they've got the all-new "Beavis & Butthead Do The Universe" feature, which will be followed by another episodic series.

i might have to give paramount+ a try. just saw a commercial for cranstons lottery movie and it looks fun. they have some good series too from what i’ve heard.

finished up euphoria season 2 and was thoroughly impressed. im a big character development lover and they did a fantastic job in that aspect. almost anything A24 has their hands in, i’ll tune in.

I like Cranston and Bening. We'll look at that one soon.
We just watched their other big new Paramount movie, "The Lost City" with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum.
That was good, too.

Paramount + will likely be the first to get "Top Gun Maverick" when the time comes, which is when I'll see that.

Watching Peaky Blinders now. Pretty good except for the guys who play Tommy and John. They are about as tough/scary acting as Pee Wee Herman. The Arthur guy seems legit nuts though.

We're a few episodes through the just released season 3 of "Umbrella Academy". It's another end of the world scenario, but they're having different characters interact with each other a la "Stranger Things" this year, and it's working well. Production values are up, too, so the benefits of the extra time from the Covid production delay and the bigger budget are readily apparent.

Amsterdam on HBOMax is a really great show. Deals with the dissolution of a relationship and all the drama surrounding that. The couple is still tied together via a dog … Amsterdam… they adopted together immediately prior to their breakup. Series takes place in an arty part of Mexico City and is really well done. Great music and scenery in this one.

Just binged season 4 of Yellowstone - not bad - kind of repetitive but OK

Also watched 1883..... by episode 5, I wanted Elsa dead... that would have been such a better show just to cut her entire character out... last episode I got my wish but it took forever for her to die... just die already... most annoying character in any show I've watched for a long time

I've also been watching an older show with Kenneth Branagh called Wallander. Takes place in Denmark and Sweden... I like it

Default Umbrella Academy Season 3

A little bit disappointing that it ended up being mostly a set up for next season, which I'm assuming would be the series finale. They've already gone through all the source material comic books for the three seasons so far, if I'm not mistaken.

That said, great acting (especially from #5 and Klaus, as usual), some cool new characters (Sloane is remarkably beautiful), and the uptick in budget for special effects 'n such was clearly evident throughout.

8/10 from me, but only that low for the "Empire Strikes Back" non-finish.

The Summer I Turned Pretty - Don't let the odd title fool you. This is a mix of The O.C. meets Gilmore Girls meets The Vampire Diaries (no vampires tough). The last episode was so sad even if you see it coming from like the 3rd or 4th episode. It's was a really nice watch with basically no one I've ever heard of (only recognized one actor in the show). Only 7 episodes on Amazon Prime, but it has already been picked up for a season 2. Yes it does have the cliche "ugly duckling to swan" story line (most of which is not that good), but it is really everything else that makes it a good watch.

I watched the first 2 1/2 seasons of Stitchers this weekend. What a great show. Sorry I missed it when it originally aired. It's like iZombie except the main character doesn't eat brains to access the memories of dead people.

I will say though the main actress had some issues in the first 15 or so episodes with her Australian accent slipping through every now and again. It was no big deal just noticeable at times.

Rest of the cast is great. Great premise. I have read it was cancelled after a big cliffhanger at the end of season 3 (which I'll wrap up tonight) so that's a bummer.

I will also add that the fake medical condition they gave the main character at the beginning of the series was really intriguing. I do wish they found a way to keep it around and explore it more because there were many, many implications for the condition.

Just finished up Ragdoll which was on AMC / AMC + a couple months back. If you are into serial killer type shows... Check it out. Quick 6 episodes but was a solid story.

Watched the first season of The Bear, didn't really know anything about it other than Hiro Murai was involved, wasn't bad.

Just binged Outer Range with Josh Brolin and Imogen Potts

Great from episodes 1-3
Got weird and hard to follow in episodes 4-5
Wheels came off episode 6
Episodes 7-8 were absolutely stupid

My thoughts exactly on that show. Had really high hopes for it but they were shot, stabbed repeatedly, and then set on fire.
