DJ, Rizzo, and Stanton all can't hit. Volpe isn't doing well. They have no catcher than can hit. Torres is too streaky. This offense is dead.

I'm not even sure the Angels are going to move him. The way the Yankees are playing, the Angels will get a Wild Card spot. They'd be dumb to trade Ohtani and then fall out of playoff contention.

Find any thing we can for guys like Donaldson, Stanton even if someone would take the contract, trade off Gleyber now to promote Peraza. Try to trade DJ even. It's also on the fan base though. How bad would the booing be, how many less fans would be in the stadium, and how many articles and radio shows would be blasting the Yankees and Hal if the starting infield was Peraza, Cabrera, and Volpe and Florial was in LF? The backlash would be brutal and they may not come back if they do get decent free agents (which I have no idea other than Ohtani who is a decent free agent in the offseason).

Simple question do the Yankees make or miss this year’s playoffs. Last years great first half made the playoffs a foregone conclusion, this years first half leaves nothing but uncertainty.
