I think zero chance at 600 million. I believe record is 425 for Trout. No team is going to give him $175 million more then that.

You have to find people that are taking out their PCs and dumbfounded with the prices. They're generally willing to deal at reasonable prices that don't have an extra zero, since their cost basis was so low.

I was able to acquire a nice card through this path just now

I thought this too, but the anecdotes and most data does not currently match the reality. We all felt the purse strings tighten earlier in the year, but now it feels like it's happy hour again.

Yes, but none of them play two positions. I honestly have thought about that too what JRX added. I would not give him a 10 year deal without a clause that after a certain year, he switches to one position. I don't see him maintaining what he's doing now at ages 36 - 39.

What happens if the Halos trade him to a team who makes him choose between pitching and hitting (full-time DH)?

My guess is he'd be a rental for the rest of the season, do what was asked, and become a free agent at the end of the year.

All on eBay. Finding auctions at weird times ending too low or new listing BINs that are underpriced. Picking up lots of non RC stuff lately but still the random 2018 card here and there. Definitely see lots of people coming out of the woodwork to list any and all Ohtanis they have, some way over priced, but you can tell some listers haven't been keeping up with his market and under price it just enough to scoop up
Also helps that I search multiple times a day for many saved searches and have been looking almost exclusively at Ohtani cards for the last couple years so I can tell pretty quickly if I need to jump on a BIN before looking around for comps and missing out. Do your Market research!!

Tough to imagine someone who would choose to do that, given what we know now (vs. a few years ago), actually managing to make it all the way to the level of MLB GM and/or Manager.
