On the one hand I love it because I own a raw 2018 silver prizm, but on the other it was depressing that when I inspected it, it looks like a 7 or 8 . Adventures of buying raw... can't complain too much though because it was and is very hard to find in any condition. Found it in a poorly title lot for $35 back in Spring 2019.

I have a couple of other Mahomes that are very rare but likely in the 7-8 range. Not sure if I should hold raw, just grade and hope for the best or sub with a min grade of 8. Just get it slabbed as authentic at some point? Any advice?

I'll keep saying this because I feel like it's just too big of a factor not to be discussed... the lack of 10,000+ base Prizm rookies like the basektball comparatives is why we are seeing this demand in "low/end" and/or inserts. This is why Optic Rated Rookie PSA 10 prices as of late don't completely shock me. It's the most widely available base rookie from the 2nd/3rd best brand(not counting NT, contenders, etc) to Prizm. Select is right there too, base rookies seem to be much more rare, although i haven't studied the pop report in awhile.

EDIT: I also understand the prizm silver is a base rookie, but it trades like a silver

I am on the same boat. I’ve got a few high end patty’s that wouldn’t grade any higher than a 7. Would love to get them slabbed at PSA and labeled as authentic but I’m worried that it would be a turn off to potential buyers, because they may think that they’ve been altered or messed with.

If you try to figure out why a BGS 10 got a 10, you're going to have a bad time. The truth is grading is very subjective, the person looking at the card decided this one will be a 10 today. If it weren't subjective you could crack and resub and get the same results every time. Ask how many people would be willing to crack their 10s and resub to experiment, the answer would be 0. BGS Black Label? Forget it, you might get a 9.5 on the next sub. It feels like a lot of times they will look at a card, determine if it's a 9 or 9.5 or whatever, and then assign subgrades to get that result without actually worrying about the accuracy of those subs, I feel this is especially true with items submitted RCR as they already know the grade. You can have two of the same card with 10 centering that are clearly centered differently. My advice would be to not worry about it as you're not going to get consistency.

Yeah, I agree with sleeper. I’ve spent quite a bit of time evaluating the centering on the xrc, as well as how beckett assigns centering grades to the xrc specifically. Riddled with inconsistencies.

Haven’t seen many of these I own two. A guy is wanting to work a deal on one of them. Anyone have an idea of the value. Panini says they are a print run of 25 or less.

Didn't see this posted anywhere, but Prizm Scope /99 PSA 10 sold for $9,000 today. Highest sale of that card for sure. There's a weird part of me that thinks of silver Prizm PSA 10s are between 5-6k then a card like the Scope /99 PSA 10 should be at least double that, but we all know that's not how it works...yet.

2018 Panini Instant #185 and #186 are /746 and /480, still available quite cheap. The print run for the Raptors championship instant set was 49,286 (lol) so I wouldn't count on the cards from these blasters holding much value.
