Why the heck can I not, for the life of me, sell a large insert lot at less than $2 per card?! It's ridiculous. About to start it at $.99 and let it ride.

I agree that it is ridiculous, but to be honest I think it is because you don't have any MAJOR cards in the lot. Your best "money" card is Topps Choice Sabine Wren which sells for $15-$20. The rest are $2-$5 cards and it's kind of like real cards in that very few want to deal with selling the cheap stuff. I'm not saying there isn't value, because there is, but that's just what I noticed when I looked at the lot.

EDIT: I guess I did miss a few good cards. The blue Wampa is nice and so is the Widevision Endor. Nightbrothers don't sell like they used to, but they are $10 cards each.

Well ask yourself this, who is going to buy that lot? There isn't much/any resale value and there aren't any sets or key cards that anyone is going to Ebay to look for except maybe TC Sabine. The large lots that sell have full Vintage or WV or even a full GM set in them.

There is very little value in later marathon inserts anymore because people that have collected all of them except for Vintage Han, Widevision Obi, Sith Connects etc. have come to realize they aren't getting one. There is a huge over supply of most of the later marathon inserts especially WV and Connects.

Default Just sad

This could have been so much nicer if Topps wasn't squeezing every credit penny out of customers. I didn't mind buying credits once and a while but now they hold back any decent variant unless you buy from them.

My solution now is to spend my $5 or $10 bucks on ebay to get the insert I might want. At least it's guaranteed and that person is making something back. I'm into the Orange Bespin cards and most are just under $10 for a limited 1000 issue. If I bought 50,000 credits I have no guarantees.

Best to All,
Vinny
PS: no Tapjoy for me either

Thread hasn't been up in awhile...

I'm looking to clean out some of my unneeded/unwanted cards. They are for sale first and possibly for trade. Here are some of the goodies I have added recently:

Full "New" Purple Set of 124, plus 14 of the "Old" Purple cards

Dark Side cards:

Black Version - Darth Vader, Mas Amedda, Zam Wessell, Count Dooku
Granite Version - Anakin Skywalker, Count Dooku, Senator Palpatine

Film Quote cards:

Pink Version - Han Solo "I Know" and Princess Leia "I Love You"

Sepia Version - Han Solo "I Know", Princess Leia "I Love You", Luke Skywalker "There's Nothing for Me Here Now", and Darth Vader "We Can Rule the Galaxy as Father and Son"

Shred cards:

Green Shred - Asajj Ventress, General Grievous, Jango Fett, Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader, and The Inquisitor

Red Shred - Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader

Mint Press:

Gold Version - Clone Trooper

Vintage:

Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi
Mynocks Outside? Oh My!
Steel Walls Close In
The Tusken Raiders

I have tons of others as well if anyone has interest. I am only doing 5 sets: Bounty, Galactic Moments, Blue Bespin, Regular Shred, and Silver Mint Press

Everything else is up for grabs. SW ID is BD3D867

I just said screw it and started the lot at $0.99

Up to 13 watchers but still only 3 bids. Guess it really is a crap lot.

I wasn't very happy. I spent 125k and pulled 1 green and a red. It never glitched for me, so I didn't know and when I got an offer of a trade for the orange Obi-Wan I took it for a nice insert of mine.

Latest trade offer I received when requesting film quotes I don't have:

I get: 3 film quotes (not the first quote in the set either)

I give: 2 film quotes, 4 vintage, 2 widevision, and Topps Choice Sabine Wren

Wow.....

EDIT: This doesn't top that, but it's close:

I get: New Han Solo quote (that I already have 2 of)

I give: 1 Vintage and the complete shred set of 8

another......Wow

I put a bid to get it going but it's still only $7.50. Your timing isn't great cause the WV award will be over by a day.

What do you think one of those gold Darth Vader death star inspection cards is worth?

Honestly, you might have missed the boat a bit on that. They were selling for crazy amounts because people thought they needed them for the gold/purple deal. Now I'm not sure and prices have dropped on "old" gold. It's still worth something though of course.

I think a lot of people expected that. I did anyway. Made out great last night with my stock of FC. A lot of FC are locked up with accounts that have them just for their force score.

Yesterday I traded a TC Wren + 2 other newer TCs for a whole mess of B&W Quotes, Light Side Garindan, and a few other inserts... just traded 3 Quotes for a Bounty Greedo.

I have a complete Galactic Moments set, and nearly a second set, just missing Fulcrum and Rebels Season 2. Would I be better off trading for those two cards, or trying to trade the partial set for a comparable Topps Choice set?

I am way off from both the Vintage and the Widevision sets, so I think those are simply out of reach at this point. Topps Choice and GM seem close, so do you all think it would be a reasonable trade? Would I be better off to get two GM awards?

If any one wants to take me up on it, my Topps ID is almost the same as here, just without the space... DARTHSMITTYOUS

On another note, I did a bonehead trade trying to finish my yellows... I ended up trading a card that I only had one of. I went from needing just two cards (Ric Ollie and R2-D2 astromech) to still needing two cards (Yoda Jedi Master and R2-D2 astromech).

I don't think you'll get an award for each full set, just one award per user. Isn't that how other awards have worked?

Good question. I am an Android user, so I missed out on the earlier awards.

However, I did get two red Vader/Luke Shreds the other day for the $9.99 purchase requirements. I guess that is why I thought there would be awards per set, instead of per user. If it is per user, then I really need to go for the TC set!

I thought I remember wondering and discussing this myself back when the Hoth awards were coming. Pretty sure that was the conclusion. But this is the first Marathon Set Award, so who knows?

The Vintage award is pretty cool. "Nearly Completed Death Star"

Wonder how many there will be...
