I've had an UD ePack account for years but never really ripped a lot of ePack stuff (prior to the UD discounts, my last ePack rip was 2017 Goodwin Champions lol).

I probably should've attempted to trade the sketch card on the right though, I'm unfamiliar with that character and don't care much for it. I'm familiar with DD though and happy to have pulled it. Unsure if I'll trade/sell it or keep it for the PC but it's a beautiful sketch to me.

Character is Iron Fist. Iron Fist had his own show on Netflix and was also in the Netflix Defenders show...

Hot damn, decided to list both sketch cards on eBay last night (like 7-8 hours ago) to see what offers I might get and already received a strong offer for each one.

If accepting, they’d essentially cover all 9 boxes purchased via ePack and part of the shipping fee to me (from COMC).

Nice....I never know how to list sketch cards, they look cool and all, but sles for even the same artist always seem all over the place

Haha, I didn't know how to list them as well. I figured if someone hit the BIN, I'd be satisfied with the sale.

Unsure if I want to move the DD (stronger offer of the 2) but I'm OK with moving the Iron Fist, just unsure if I want to wait it out a little more and see what else trickles in or not.

One aspect that doesn't get mentioned too much is the sketch's subject matter. Not necessarily the character (or even the artist), but the scene/moment that's depicted, if that makes any sense.

Take this sketch for example, which sold for over $1100 via Ebay auction recently:




If one isn't familiar with the show, it just looks like a normal Gambit sketch. The artist is Matthew Sutton - very talented, but not a huge name.

There are other Gambit sketches from the X-Men 97 set that are less desirable, and there are also other Matthew Sutton sketches that are readily available.

The unique thing about the above sketch is that it's a direct nod to a beloved scene in the show. Possibly the most revered moment by fans:

"The name's Gambit, mon ami. Remember it!"



The Ebay auction looks to be real, but probably two collectors in a bidding war.

Hot damn, I countered the buyer at $500 total ($300 for DD, $200 for IF) and they accepted.

I'll completely cover my initial buy-in of 9 boxes (as well as shipping costs for returned cards) with this sale.

I think I have 10 autos, a case hit, a numbered card or two, 9 patches, a bunch of complete Defenders subsets and a bunch of acetates.

Yes free to send to COMC. It costs a fee to eventually send home though and COMC takes a cut if you sell through them.

Yowzas, congrats! You got $500 for those two sketches? Who are the artists? Sounds like the sketch market is hot right now.

Yup, I got $500 for the pair ($300 for Daredevil and $200 for Iron Fist). It probably helped that they were 2 of the 4 main characters from the 2018 UD Defenders set.

The artist for DD was Ulisses Gabriel and the artist for IF was Jezreel Rojales. I almost kept the former because, not only is DD a cool character (at least to me) but the art was incredibly nice too.

But I won't be opening enough of it to do all of the foiling to make a complete set...

Yes. All e-Pack cards are all actually already at COMC.

Haha, I won't share their username for confidentiality purposes, but if you have any to list (maybe starting with 2018 UD Defenders), I'd recommend listing those sooner than later.

I think I'm going to be listing some of my Marvel sketches... Those are really nice, but I never would expect them to go for $500!
