First Buzz: 2020 Topps Chrome Formula 1 racing cards

These are a couple of 1/1’s I pulled over a few boxes. I have the Lundgaard up for auction on eBay. However, I Need help pricing out the F2 card. Is that something that I might be better off holding just because it’s a 1/1? I can’t imagine an F2 team selling well. Regardless of it being a 1/1

Yeah, in the Topps Chrome Facebook group the topic of missing Hamilton true gold autos and Leclerc true gold autos came up because of this.

Neither of those have surfaced I don’t think. Who knows, maybe 6 boxes have 15-18 of each lol.

Sapphire boxes have been bumping up the last week or two.

I'm not so sure it really had anything to do with any particular sale BO jacked up prices at the start of the Nationals to I want to say $800 for Sapphire and like $700 for Chrome and people followed suit. Boxes of Sapphire were trending down to $660-75 at the same time on Ebay and Chrome was around $500. I guess people were buying though so they figured lets just keep prices high and jack up the rest of F1. Just shows you the power they have to effect markets....

Yeah I talked to a guy who ripped 6 boxes at the National on Sunday at $800/per. Probably got them at the blowout stand

That’s a crazy high price. Base Hamilton’s were selling at $250 when boxes first came out at $600. Now base Hamilton’s only go for $100 and boxes are $800-$1000? That’s ludicrous even for degenerate gamblers.

Agreed. He sounded very inexperienced with f1, but was just getting into it. He didn’t sound upset about the price so my guess he could stomach much better than me lol

It’s all about chasing the 1/1s and Hammertime/Max autos. No Gold or green autos exist for Lewis making the Refractor Base Autos a major major pull. Plus I guarantee Lewis becomes further more short printed signature-wise in 2021. Actually I can guarantee it.

Gentlemen, we are in the infancy stage of Formula 1 Racing cards. It reminds me of buying up tons of soccer pre-2018 before people realized how cheap Messi/Ronaldo stuff was. I recall purchasing multiple Zebras & Camos for less than $80 each on eBay & COMC and gold refractors for less than $200. Who knows which direction F1 takes but one thing is for sure this stuff is an excellent long term hold. Sealed product won’t go down.

I’m having a field day with singles as stuff is dirt cheap. Beckett has missed Chrome F1 pricing in the previous 2 issues. 75% of the sellers don’t know what they’re selling.
