Got this from COMC on twitter yesterday after calling them out for continually just copying and pasting a generic response. Still generic, but with slightly more info: https://twitter.com/CheckOutMyCards/...67038395576327

I'd read it but they blocked me on Twitter for some reason.

In my few years of experience, cards offered on sale tend to sell better due to the psychological aspect of it being offered at a discount. It's the reason people will go into an outlet, see something as "80% off" from MSRP and think it's a massive deal when in reality it probably isn't.

I run constant sales because of this and it has paid off handsomely for the less < $3 it costs me to run it every 30 days. Sure, it costs a bit more on the backend but I'd rather have higher sale volume and pay that than not.

I bought a COMC item via ebay auction on the 7th and received this: "Your order is being packaged with an expected shipping date of 9/14/2020.".
Est delivery- 21-24th. DAMN.. seems kind of long for a 250$ card.
Is this how long it normally takes?

I also purchased an item from COMC on ebay and paid and 2 days later they cancelled saying it was already sold.

1) COMC is really slammed right now on both processing new cards and shipping sold cards. It's very new that they're giving 1 week shipping timelines to eBay sales. Those were usually 1-2 business days.
2) This happens every once in a while. When cards sell on comc.com, they take a minute or two to update on eBay. So they check the timestamp and see who bought the card first. Probably someone who had a hot game or recently died.

If you're going to buy more stuff from COMC, you're better off signing up for their website. BIN cards are much cheaper on comc.com instead of through eBay. Plus you can hold the cards you buy there indefinitely and then package them all together so you pay for less packages.

Can anyone with a recent order tell me how long it took please I’m trying to not get crushed by shipping costs for a few cards I need for a signing that aren’t on eBay .

If you only need a few cards, and you need them on a timeline, you need to pay the upgraded expedited shipping for COMC to package them sometime this month.

Add: or see if they're available on sportlots...

My last shipment, 10 cards, priority rushed:

Shipped 9/11/2020 9/1/2020
Delivered 9/15/2020 9/4/20

shipped 10 days earlier than expected

So after hesitating for a few weeks I finally pulled the trigger and sent a batch of cards to COMC. My first one week batch hit my account a day early and i have a good feeling about the others. Hopefully this is a positive sign that they are getting back on track with processing. I do feel for those who have unprocessed cards sitting from before the shutdown.

That's pretty funny. I will admit, when I was at COMC I had a series of "macros" that I would use for replies - boilerplates that I could tweak for each specific email. When I'm handling ~100 emails a day, it saves a little time, as Upper Management expected me to have the Inbox empty by the end of the day, so efficiency was key. Apparently, those standards have slipped a little bit, since I left...

And, if the customer asked the same question I would just copy and paste the previous reply, as I was essentially answering the same question again. It was funnier if it was all in the same thread. It was a little passive/aggressive but I was still answering their question with the best answer I had available...my hands were tied.

That's even funnier...did you do something to upset James? I was surprised that he never blocked me from their twitter feed, as he blocked me from his personal account shortly after I "left" the company...

Yeah, my 5/8 was just pushed back two more weeks to the middle of October now. They have been adding about 10 cards a week from it, but it’s super frustrating Bc it’s only 200 cards and I still have some decent values cards I’m waiting to be processed. It makes no sense either Bc some are from sets they have already added cards from. I’m just tired of waiting for them to be added Bc I want to slash prices and sell out once they finally all get added so I can be done.

Totally understand what you're saying, but I'm sure you knew when you were giving generic responses that the person on the other end was likely getting pissed from it.

The ONLY thing hitting the required times right now are the one week Elite batches. I don't mind when sending in nice graded cards selling for $50+ but current year batches just sit and sit.

Seems like 3 week guaranteed have been largely unaffected. I had one processed on time yesterday and I have a 2nd due tomorrow that is over half done.

Ah right, my bad....there is another guaranteed level of service.

When current year is 3-week non-guaranteed, you can probably expect that to be double or triple the length in time.

Yea, my first current 3 year was on-time so I sent in more, looks to be a mistake. The level of card I'll send in at 35 cents vs 50 cents is a bit different, but overall a lot of cards I'd send would've been better off at the 3 week guarantee at this point. (I know I have lots of Tyler Herro and Fernando Tatis Jr RCs I'd like to sell that are stuck in purgatory at this point.

---
So I have been emailing COMC semi regularly about 2 Draymond Green plate cards that were not uploaded from a March submission. I sent an email off today after COMCs twitter post to me. To my surprise I actually got a response, and 2 hours later the two cards have been processed for me to price.

The person handling the emails name is Laura, so kudos to her.

Yeah and since people keep flooding them with auctions and other guaranteed service levels everyone else waiting on past due ones get shafted more. They should have stopped all submissions to get caught up, instead they decided to just punish a few and other idiots keep flooding them with stuff. I was hoping to be done by now, but here I sit, waiting for a submission that’s already 4 months late with a due date another month away.

Nevermind, I just copied the URL in a different browser - so, COMC blocked James? That is hilarious. They never blocked me, which was always a little surprising...

I get that and I hate when I can't give a customer what they want. I've been in those shoes and it sucks out loud. But I can tell you that if a CSR has specific information regarding your issue, they'll share as much as they can with you...if the info isn't available, you'll have to deal with the generic, because that's all they got.

And, I'd rather give you a generic answer now, just so you know I'm working on the issue and I will do what I can to be able to give you a more detailed response further down the line. The only thing worse than a generic reply is no reply.

FYI, if you're going to ask me the same question again, I'm just going to give you the same answer. The answers will not change, just because you asked me a second time.

So, it took them 3.5 weeks to acknowledge and begin the 2 week process for a Mailbox Submission.

I hope they get caught up soon so I can start sending to the Mailbox again without such delays.

On that, how will we know when they are caught up and back to normal?

JoelsHitShow is back doing his thing again. Over the months I have purchased a few cards from him. Doing Approx. 5% off his asking price Which dropped some into my range. So I made an offer with 9 cards. Approx. 5% off asking price. He countered with doubling the prices. Been watching these cards for 6 months and they did not sell at his lower prices. My offer was Max what I would spend on the cards.

Just do not understand it BUT did think he may do that. The cards were anything special.
