All of those designs are sweet but I'm intrigued thinking about Living Set artwork on a mostly borderless design like the '69 Topps Football.

It's a start in the right direction. (However, I still think Topps will ultimately have to consider attaching the max limit to the customer rather than the cart to really slow down the bots. But they are definitely willing to make these changes in the future.)

It also sounds like they will go back to variable print pricing based on the demand for the player. (No more $20 prints for Mantle-like superstars)

A second change I requested was that Topps send me unnumbered artist proofs of my Living Set fine art prints, which I can then hand number myself. This will ensure the copies I get from Topps aren't taken from the /100 edition, leaving more /100 copies available for collectors to purchase. It's not a huge change, but it will benefit the collectors when those prints that sell all 100 copies come around.

Good stuff Jared!!

Great job on the Living Set / David Ortiz, I picked up additional copies and would like to get a few signed.

Please let me know the info. if you are still signing via SAE etc.

Thanks in advance

Thank you! I love painting the hall of famers, and since they don't show up as often as I'd like, it's a real thrill whenever I get assigned one.

Yes - I still offer artist signings on my site, but I'm lousy at hyping it. Here's a link: artist-signed cards

In the past, I've been able to sign and ship them the same day I receive them.

I wasn't considering the design layout from an artist perspective. I do like that last two years of GWTG since they went borderless, as it allows the collector to see more of Jennis' work.

Would you prefer to do portraits or action shots if the choice was yours?

I think the portrait style would be more efficient for the artists. The "Living Set" has become a style over the years, with all the Living Sets basically showing portraits rather than action shots. I can see Topps wanting to stick with that just for continuity's sake.

But there are so many awesome action plays in NBA and NFL that it could be amazing to see depicted. To see Dwight Clark's "The Catch" moment or the '88 Jordan Slam Dunk Contest would be insane to see captured on a card.

Back in 2013, I painted "The Catch" for Sportkings' Memorable Moments insert set. It was 4 pieces painted directly on-card. Wonder if any a collector ever collected all 4 pieces?

I agree with the massive potential that comes with depicting action shots, but I can understand wanting to ensure quick turnaround times and provide a sense of continuity within the set and between all of the Living Sets.

That's a fantastic insert. Were all four pieces 1/1?

One of my favorite sets has many iconic moments painted, 2008 Upper Deck Masterpieces Football, moments like "The Catch" the "Immaculate Reception" or the "Tuck Rule".

Yes - all were 1/1s. There were several of these memorable moments I painted and I can't recall ever seeing one fully assembled by a collector.

What other players were included? I'm having trouble finding the set on TCDb.

It was 20 different sports moments. My memory is fuzzy on the details....I am pretty sure they were included in one of the Sportkings series, but perhaps they were some kind of special redemption?

I uploaded all of them to a Facebook album. Let me know if you can't access it:

Those are great, Jared!

I’ll have to dig a bit on TCDb and see what I can find.

I’d like to see a set based of the 1980 topps set, but that’s three players per card

There aren't any images on TCDb, and none of the cards exist in any collections. I'd be curious if all of these cards have been found.

He is a legend but he is definitely not elligible for Living Set.

I know I'm alone here but I hope they keep living set how they said it would stay and don't modify it to cash cow more retired players or include mascots/managers/owners/broadcasters/etc.

They already did masked/unmasked for Kylo Ren in star wars just to make more money ...

After I uploaded the Memorable Moments images to Facebook, Dr. Brian Price commented:

"Jared for many years after the product was released I tried to buy any of these that I could get my hands on but the ones for sale were few and far between. I have some but put them away, I am now going to look for them and see what I have. I forgot how great these cards were. Wish I didn't sell the Sporkings brand in 2014, would love to still be making these cards. Thanks for publishing the images brings back some great memories."

I wonder how many of them he tracked down. I used to see 1 or 2 on ebay a few years ago, but that's it.

A DiMaggio sold back in May. Very cool set. If the link doesn't work search sold listings, title is '2013 Jared Kelley Sportkings Series F Original Art Card of Joe DiMaggio #d 1/1'

FYI - The eBay auctions for the these artist-signed prints ends tomorrow at 6pm PST. The Dontrelle Willis prints are the only prints that will feature a foil color other than gold. (If you win one, message me and I'll give you the story behind it.)

Since I posted on this earlier, wanted to update that I received 2 orders together a few days ago. It's definitely way longer than I expected I'd be waiting (even knowing it'd be a long wait), but everything did come through.
