Anywhere from 5-9 wouldn't shock me as long as Zion is healthy.

That's the thing, health is going to likely be the biggest factor for determining seeding with the good teams. Like we saw last year, Jokic can carry scrubs to the 6th - if he has Murray and MPJ this year, plus improvements elsewhere [no more Barton, thank goodness] - then I see them near the top, and like I said earlier, GS and Minny also strike me as the right combos of depth and likely to be healthy.

LAC are the real wildcard, because who knows what version of Kawhi we see and how much he plays.

They all finished 1st in their group stages B, C and, D. Spain finished 1st in group A.

The knockout round begins Saturday. Looks like Doncic/Slovenia could end up facing Jokic/Serbia in the semifinals. With the winner competing against Giannis/Greece in the finals if things go accordingly.

Any upset predictions? I'll go with Lithuania over Spain

Looks like the Lakers will have to play with Westbrook best they can. However, I will cringe at him waiting at the baseline to try and make 3 pointers - I hope Lakers are smart enough to NOT do that.

There has to still be something he is good at - hope they find out and play to his strengths (if there is any left).

But the boatload of games missed due to injury from both Anthony Davis & LeBron was a hurdle they could not overcome - that's not Westbrooks fault. Had AD & LeBron played majority of games healthy, Lakers would probably have done well despite Westbrook.

I'm sure they try it with Ham's vision and then if it doesn't work, give up on the project.

So a Greece vs Slovenia Final has gotta be what everyone is wanting to see, right?

I was hoping for a Slovenia/Serbia semifinals but wasn't in the cards i guess. There will probably be a few more upsets before it's over. Almost every game has been very close.

Also Lauri Markkanen scored 43 points today in Finland's win over Croatia.

Very interesting buy-low pick-up for the Hawks - just signed Jarrett Culver to a two-way contract.

That's certainly one way to phrase it.

Confirmed Curry tried to get KD back:

“I was never hesitant. The idea of playing with KD and knowing who he is as a person, from our history in those three years, I think KD’s a really good dude. I think he is misunderstood. I think he has had certain things happen in his life that hurt his ability to trust people around him, in a sense of making him feel safe at all times. So all of those things, I understand, having played with him and gotten to know him. I love that dude.

“And if you said, ‘Oh, KD’s coming back, and we’re gonna play with him,’ I had so much fun playing with him those three years, I’d be like, ‘Hell, yeah!’

Lol, this is from a RollingStone fluff piece - and yeah, Curry's a thoughtful & nice dude - when has he ever bad-mouthed a teammate, present or former?

GS could've put together the best KD trade package in the league and didn't - that's all you need to know. You can stop trying to play damage control for KD's ego's sake - it won't work too well with all that has been said by KD this summer.

This pick up adds another young piece, one that's capable of providing 3.5 ppg, 1 rebound, and 1 assist on nearly 38% shooting.

This is confirmed that he is OK with KD

Quite the leap

This is like saying I tried to get KD to Cleveland by emailing the Cavs

Agreed. It makes kd look even softer. He is definitely not an alpha.

The Bucks really should sign Schroeder. He is familiar with Coach Bud and has said in the past that Milwaukee is his favorite NBA to visit due to the German heritage. Not to mention, the Bucks desperately need some help at the PG position as George Hill and Jevon Carter won't really cut it.
