Man the Challenge system couldn’t come fast enough. I understand Brady Singer pitches from an odd angle but this umpire is calling strikes a couple inches off the plate.

Agree, that’s looking like a great add. I didn’t realize how good of an outfield defender he is. Not to mention seems like he has more power this year.

I'm going to turn this into a Daulton Varsho hype thread...this kid is looking like an absolute steal. I'm thinking Arizona will regret trading Varsho before the Jays ever regret trading Moreno and Gurriel.

I actually almost bumped this thread this morning to see if everyone was appreciating Chapman’s talents so far, but I didn’t want to be labeled a pumper. If he can stay healthy (please God) and produce at 2019 levels, this lineup just got scarier

He’s playing for a contract. The Jays may not be able to keep him, but they’ll ride this insane show he’s putting on for the entire year, hopefully. Dude has been lights out!

Agreed - and I’ll add that, while his production and health have been very up and down, he’s the type of leader and player that teams want to keep. Only the A’s and Pirates would be cheap enough to let him go without trying to re-sign him

Jays will try to re-sign Chapman but he'll be elsewhere in 2024.

He's for sure looking for a 5+ year contract for big $$$. Jays need to save that money for Vlad and Bo.

Jays need to enjoy Chapman this year because he be gone baby gone.

I’m pretty sure Addison Barger makes him expendable. They’ll make a courtesy offer to Chapman, while fully expecting to get outbid and turn to their “backup” plan.

Orelvis is theoretically an option, too, but he has a lot to prove at this stage.
