They truly don't give a rip about your cards. No toploaders...nothing...literally thrown in a plastic baggy.
If someone really wanted to dive deep into this and spend money on a lawyer, when they advertised these cards for sale every week, they advertised them as sealed in that uncirculated type holder they used.

Lol I'm sorry that Fanatics/Topps stuck you guys so badly.

BUT it's objectively hilarious if you're not party to the situation. Because Fanatics is so self-directed I almost envy how indurate they are to their customers.

Once Fanatics realized eTopps was a pebble in their shoe, they decided cutting bait to the situation in the way which put the customers absolutely last was the best practice. Which is hilarious.

The company literally sells top loaders and penny sleeves on their website, but threw the cards in a Ziploc bag. At every point in the decision making process, they erred on the side of "let's bend this customer over."

Which is so antithetical to every other brand which sells luxuries, it's weirdly refreshing.

I think my respect for Michael Rubin actually increased.

.
+ they intentionally exposed "not valid" on the backs of the cards.

+ they sell the actual cases that they were shipping etopps cards in last month

I still have all these cards.

Every eTopps Classic football card autographed, of living players at the time the cards were available, except only one. Just wasn't able to get Bubba before he passed.

Have a LOOK if so inclined.

I still miss the fun of eTopps to this day. It was literally the catalyst that got me back into the hobby.

I saw that people have until September 19,2025 when all accounts are locked. Then until September 30,2025 to either ship or get the store credit.

I don't think what they are doing is legal. I wish there is lawyer collector among us.

Fanatics wasn’t even around in 2000 when these were first sold. It was dumped in their laps when they bought topps. I can assure you that over the years topps has been just as self-directed. Topps initial IPO was so popular that it blew up their servers and they had to shut the site down for months (after taking everyone’s money). Topps thought collectors would trade these online, but what real collectors wanted was to own these cards, get them shipped and have the cards in their collection. Topps initial screwing with the shipping charge was done to try to keep the program “online” and afloat.

Collectors are not new to this. Topps ran a company for decades that had almost zero contact info on their packs or their website. They would not answer questions about print runs or errors unless ruthlessly harassed. This problem isn’t going away. We will fight to make this right.

Most collectors thought etopps was virtual cards. They had to go outing their way to convince collectors otherwise.

Has anyone been able to figure out what we can actually get with the store credit?

Original poster tried to buy two different things, and couldn’t use the credit for either.

from reading fb comments, seems to be like half and half of whether they restrict certain people from using the credit on wax

Curious about what people think the impact to higher end Etopps cards going forward will be from this? A few of my thoughts:

- cards shipped without protection, without authentication will be worth less
- meaning cards with protection and authentication will be worth more in comparison and maybe much more as you have to assume that not every Durant or Trout rookie were removed from Etopps prior to Aug '25 (leaving the potential print run of high quality cards even lower).
- what % of high-end Etopps cards do you think were in the public before Aug '25?
- what % of high-end cards do you think left at Etopps through Aug '25 will be shipped to the public? Do the remaining cards (not shipped to the public) get destroyed?
- what does this do to the market for low print run cards?

I suspect market will be flooded and drive the prices down across the board.

Not much. These cards are oddball at best in 2025

I don't know about that -- I think we would have started to see a little evidence already if that was the case. But everything newly listed on ebay seems to have been stickered and cased, so -- delivered before all this.

Is the assumption that there were potential buyers who were staying out of the market because they felt like there were cards not in circulation?

The interest in Etopps outside of like three total cards was like 6 total people. Nobody was avoiding making purchases because they thought there might be a wave of unreleased cards hitting the market, whether authenticated or not.
