Awesome! I haven't bought much this year, but have been selling some doubles on eBay. Up to $300 balance on there and want to get to around $500. Looking to purchase a Frank Robinson or Unitas SGC 4/5 nicely centered card or maybe a T206/T205 HOF player. So many cards I want out there.

just curious, if you don't mind, what % did you have to "overpay" to get
a monster card like that ??? (like, what did the 16 add up to vs. the 1)

thanks, and AWESOME CARD !!!

Hi guys. Some fabulous cards have been shown here, congrats! I will admit, I don’t post a ton on Blowout; I’m usually more a N54 and Facebook guy. But I replied to a few threads here earlier today, and figured why not.

Somewhat a photo dump, but I think all of these were acquired this year so far. The last 3 were SGC returns:

Fantastic color and registration on the 3 SGC graded cards.

The Ryan pops like a photograph!

Thanks. Centering is off t/b, but it’s a super clean card otherwise. Hardly a print mark on it.

Even with the centering that's one of the nicest I've seen. Incredible colors on the 1963.

Much appreciated. Definitely hard to see some of those classics go but very happy with the Mickey!

The 58 Hank and 72 Nolan are some of my favorite cards of those guys. You’ve got great taste!

Thanks. I'm not a centering guy to start with (70/30 does not bother me, in most cases...) but especially on '63 and T/B it's hard to tell because you have kind of an implied border there at the bottom with that partial full-bleed green. If you study it long enough, you realize it's OC - but it's not super offensive to the eyes at first the way some regular bordered cards that are MC might be. Of course on that Mantle, it also doesn't hurt matters that it's virtually perfectly centered SS.

Thanks. Both of those cards have roots in my childhood for being among my favorites. I got a '58 Hank (in much worse shape than that one) when I was 12 that was a big part of my childhood collection for a long time. Then the '72 Ryan I saw as a kid on Johnny Bench's "Great American Baseball Quiz" one time when they did a question about Ryan, and him being traded from the Mets. I didn't realize at the time the logo was an airbrush job, but that old logo always fascinated me too. That card is one of the few with obvious airbrushing that I like!

ok, here goes.

about 2-3 months ago somebody posted on b/s/t/ section a '52 mantle
sgc1, with pretty nice eye appeal. i thought, i'm gonna try and buy it,
BUT, i've got to SELL 30k in cards to replace it, effectively a TRADE, in my mind. wanted to pull the trigger, guy went with goldin, i didn't follow, i think it sold for like 28k in jan.

i have since changed my mind.

i could give up:
'33 goudey yellow ruth, psa 1 , but gorgeous
'51 bowman willie mays, psa 1, gorgeous front, but peeled from album/back
'53 topps willie mays, sgc 4, dead centered
'41 playball joe dimaggio, sgc 4, classic card
'54 topps hank aaron, psa 3, legit looks like a 4
1909 caramel ty cobb, sgc 2, my favorite card
'86 fleer michael jordan , beckett 7.5, beautiful
'54 bowman mantle , beckett 6.5, WOULD crossover

due to budget constraints, my big purchases will be curtailed for a bit going
forward.

those are probably my BEST eight cards and now i cannot think of trading
those for one card.

i get WAY to much enjoyment looking at/owning those cards than 1 card could replace/replicate.

THANK YOU for letting us "live vicariously" through you/your trade.
your passion for cards is awesome !!!!!

been collecting 60's raw partial sets off and on for years, and finally decided to sell that all and get into the stuff I really want, which is early to mid 50s. Its slow going, its expensive, and it doesn't come as fast and in the quantities I was used to with the 60s stuff, but I am enjoying slowly building partial sets up this year. mostly just commons but without stains, without writing, without pinholes/tape, without too much in way of bothersome creasing, and importantly for me, with a good "old book" scent rather than a musty scent.
