The issue here is that these stores are the equivalent of our LCS, however they're forced into having a strong online presence to sell to international customers because up until recently there just hasn't been enough demand for the hobby here in Aus.

As far as cards go, buyers in the US are spoilt for choice, so I would recommend caution when pre ordering through online stores directly due to the woes and overheads of online postage. expedited international shipping was only $18. is using paypal not sufficient for buyer protection?

As much as I love soccer, I've got better things to spend my money on.

I'll buy a complete base set on EBay for a fraction of that price, and any inserts/autos I like.

Hopefully, there will also be a Mosiac WC set released at a much more reasonable price point.....

Mosaic (Road to World Cup) checklist dropped recently and...it's not great. Full disclosure I'm not a Mosaic fan at all, especially after what they did with the Euro release. Too many cheesy inserts and I don't like the general design, regardless of year. That said, will definitely be a way lower price point and much more accessible. Hopefully allows more people to get involved with WC releases.

Eminence cases are 2k??? That seems to be a better deal than pretty much everything that it's currently being put out.

It's a low bar to clear but you're right, at least it's not the same exact checklist regurgitated across 4-5 different releases. Gives folks from countries like Italy, Chile, Sweden, Norway etc. a chance to get some of their guys (though I have my doubts that's what motivated Panini to set it up this way).

It feels like it could be a last hurrah for Panini before they sell out to Fanatics. I imagine they have had their printer gping nonstop to squeeze out every dollar possible.

Probably busted 3-4 cases of 2014/2018 (that was just when they came out) not to mention others I've ripped

Boxes at $650 USD and dropping. It will be interesting to see where it goes to until the WC starts up. I would guess that it would pop up a bit as the tournament progresses.

Positives: first (and maybe only outside of eminence) of the World Cup products to actually be a full World Cup product and not ‘road to’ (outside of stickers) to include all 32 teams (will be great to have Canada and some of the African countries), full suite of autos (don’t see final checklist though), seems to be the go to product of prior world cups and nice extras such as the color wheel. Should hold up pretty well value wise relative to other products and also has the chances at mbappe autos

Negatives: will miss those Norway and Italy cards that were in the ‘road to’ products although those countries aren’t actually in the World Cup this year, higher price point (although low relative to nt) but then again 14 and 18 go for astronomical prices.

I don’t see anywhere near the same drop off that we saw in the road to products although both donruss and mosaic seem to have stabilized and may be trending up a little from the lows.

Yeah this is just pre sale and there's a boat load of this stuff on eBay with sellers undercutting each other. Lots of Australian sellers too which makes me think a lot of these pre orders won't even be honoured. Release and start of WC should see prices begin to climb.
