Originally, back in MM16, they were releasing at or around SRP but I remember reading somewhere on these forums that they had started to release on ePack higher if the set demand was high and supply had dropped off. If that's the case, then these could be released at a very high price - but like I said, I haven't watched the prices that much across physical and epack on recent releases - anyone know if that is still the case?

In my experience, the epack prices are higher than physical product when comparing straight MSRP. However during the 2020-2021 period, physical has become so in-demand, the prices on the street are now much higher than epack. The odds are different between physical and epack. Not to mention the Jusko and Jason Crosby sketch-exclusives that I'm still steamed that epack got. On top of all that, UD specifically calls out that the odds on epack product is "across the entire product run" and only what's specifically called out in the epack box/case selling pages are guaranteed, which can be very different from physical product.

I call epack stuff 'warm packs' because of this

Went up again on dacardworld at $450 per. I'm in for 5 boxes now. There's no way this doesn't launch around the $1k mark given the price of other pmg boxes that contain spiderman.

Is there any word about whether or not there will be any of the main Marvel/avengers characters in this set like with 2017 spiderman fleer?

DACW's bizarre pre-order strategy is confusing. I can't find any way to get notified when products are back in stock so are people checking hourly? It seems to work for them because products keep selling out although that could be because they only stock a few boxes at a time before raising prices.

FYI: Preorders are back up at DACW at $449.95 as of 9:02AM ET this morning.

Does anyone know if Blowout has actually pre-sold any Spider-Man Metal boxes or cases? The pre-order pages have said "Out of stock" as long as I can remember.

I think online preorders are only through UD authorized internet retailers. Blowout is not on the list.

So they can't put it in an online store, but you can email them to pre-order.

Yup. Unless things have changed, that's how things have gone for 16MM, FUSM, and FUXM. Haven't preordered since then.

Yea, the rules are odd, but I imagine it also forces those 2 competitors to buy everything from UD and lots of it. Some cons with that if the product is a dud.

Does Upper Deck only allow DACW to pre-order a few cases at a time, slowly increasing the price? That doesn't make sense at all.

The demand for this set is probably the highest out of any recent Marvel release given the hype around spidey pmgs. They will keep selling out no matter the price.

Ask yourself, if you owned a business and were guaranteed 100 cases by Upper Deck..how would you pre-sell them a year out?

It'll end up being the highest demand set for quite some time. Bolded is why. The only way interest might change is if UD put out a big name MM set before to long.

Exactly. They're a business. They don't have an infinite amount of cases. They have to get as much money as they can. If anything, I'm surprised they've sold as much of their allocation as they already have. They have to know they're selling it for a small percentage of what they could get in a year or more.
