Remember this particular event that happened to this Hobby giant. Imagine if everyone dumped his cards had this happened today lol.

Apples and oranges.

Kobe already had seven years in, three NBA championships, multiple All-Stars
with an MVP, playing for one of the storied franchises from the age of 19,
and on his way to the HOF. What he was accused of could have derailed his
career but he had a nice resume cushion in 2003.

Remind me. Who is this guy again with a total of 24 MLB hits at age 26?
Glad to hear all worked out ok but for me like Pewe, I collect cards to keep. Even
though he might make a great flip down the road, I'll put my dollars elsewhere.

I can definitely see a flipper angle. But I just can’t believe for someone like my son and me, who like to build long term collections of players with real possible HOF type career, that he’s a viable option.

Why not? He's only 25 and he already has 8 HR and 13 RBI. Next he'll be Acuna and then he'll be Trout.

Not making excuses. But ive heard about some parents who lose custody of their kids and kidnap them. Some parents can really obsess over their kids though it’s probably an ego thing when its all said and done. Like when a dad feels victimized as a stereotype when a judge awards custody to the mother for whatever reason. There’s an assumption out there that mothers will usually get custody of children in a divorce, which triggers those “men’s rights” types when it happens.
