Honestly, a lot of Kawhi stuff is too cheap for a stone kold killla with 2 titles already and the favorite to win this year if the bubble works out.

Maybe it's my investing preferences getting conservative in a high risk time, but I'll take 2 rings (Kawhi) over zero (Giannis) for way less.

The Clippers are not the favorite to win though.

One player I have been buying two different years and difference scenarios: Dwight Howard.

1. RC's, he will get in when it's his time. That will be a while yet though so not in a big hurry. When he retires I anticipate a lull in the middle between retirement and HoF announcement.

2. First Lakers cards, 2012-13. When the Lakers make their run this year (assuming they play in full), I like the idea of these cards. I don't think he will play a big role, but I think he will be a role player and get some media shine.

2 things about Kawhi, despite being a great player:

1. He's very quiet and robot-like, so he doesn't really connect to the casual fan.

2. His longevity might be a bit iffy, due to his load management stuff. Right now, Tobias Harris (from the same draft class) has more career points that him.

How is the hobby sleeping on him?

His 2012 Prizm base RC as a PSA 10 is around $2000. In the past 90 days it is up 170%

A raw 2012 Prizm Silver RC went for $7600 around 5 weeks ago.

I have a PSA 9 Anthony Davis Silver and one sold the other day for $5500.

Last raw AD Silver went for $2100 a month ago. Let's say today it went for $2800 to $3500 for argument sake.

So you're looking at $10,000 to $15,000 as a PSA 9.

Yet Kawhi is undervalued and cheap

Agreed. Kawhis 2012 prizm stuff is an outlier.

He still has many affordable rookies outside of prizm.

Even some of his lower end rookie autos are still very affordable.

I got a crusade rc auto for $100 at a show 2 weekends ago

I'm not saying Kawhi in general is undervalued but I am saying that some of his cards are fantastic buys right now. Not spilling the beans on what but I'm sure some of the smart money sharks on here are already on it.

AD is probably undervalued in general.

I like AD + Kawhi as a hedged play going into the bubble.

PSA 10's are creeping up towards $3,000

Super underrated card (or set) since the base rookies are /999

I bought the Kawhi's 3 weeks ago. A ton of them.

Domantas Sabonis Is criminally undervalued compared to other top big men.

I think a great comp is Bam Adebayo because they’re basically the same age (Adebayo is 22, Sabonis is 23).

Bam 16.2ppg 10.5rpg 5.1apg
Sabonis 18.5ppg 12.4rpg 5.0apg

Bam silver prizm gems are over $400
Sabonis silver prizm gems are around $200

Haha shocking right I get that the market treats Prizm like the true comparative stock of a player, but I like to get a bit more creative. Prizm always rises first when people get excited about a player and then the dust starts to settle (or people simply get priced out of Prizm)...

Once the dust settles, people start to throw more money at RC autos, 2nd best, 3rd best high grade base RCs etc. I’m a low risk high reward kinda buyer because I hate gambling and I’m cheap. I prefer to immediately start looking at other options once Prizm starts to go meteoric because it’s only a matter of time before the other cards rise as well.

Obviously Prizm is a great investment if you get it early enough, but there’s steals to be had in the early stages of a player getting hot. Just gotta dig a bit harder than “fill in the blank Prizm RC PSA 10”.

My stash agrees.
Both well-deserved 1st time All-Stars
Sabonis 24, Bam 22.

1. I don't make the odds. There are people that do it for a living and the Clippers are not in the top 2 consensus.

2. Why wouldn't the Lakers have Dwight Howard? He also plays 20 mins or less a game.

When you are a collector, its feels like a gift from up above when your guy is undervalued

I’m not sure if those AD PSA10 sales are real to be honest. I’m not a BGS fanboi, but you can get BGS True Gems for $600. Give me 3 True Gems for the price of one PSA10 all day every day.

I love Sabonis!!! Dude gets absolutely no love though aside from a few collectors. I like seeing dudes like him and Jokic get hobby love.

Agreed, and they shouldn't be... If they met Giannis in the Finals he'd eat them alive. I think people really underestimate just how much Gasol and Ibaka did for that interior Raptors D last year. Clippers have zero interior defenders of their caliber.
