If there was no EXMT category then I could understand not having a VGEX category, but since they already intermingle grades with EXMT then why not have VGEX.

Just got my first Canadian order (one $15 card). I really didn't want to have to do any orders to Canada. I guess $9.95 shipping wasn't enough to dissuade him.

For those that ship to Canada regularly, what's my best way?

Thanks, Nick

I'd like to thank all my customers and Sportlots staff for record sales again in May. Couldn't have done it without you.

I use www.pirateship.com for all my shipments. Don't remember offhand but $10 may not be enough to clear a bubble mailer to Canada.

I have had a number of PWE orders to Canada - lost one early in the pandemic and one took about a month to get there but no issues outside of that.

Thanks for that link. I just took a look at it, and I made an account. It appears to be the same costs as paypal shipping, so I will keep it on the back burner in case of anything.

The minimum for a First Class Package to Canada is $11.64 using PayPal. So, you are going to lose some money on this transaction.

Did they stop allowing site credit to be allowed for purchases? I made some purchases over the weekend and couldn't figure out how to use my credit balance.

Not that I know of, but I haven't done one since April.

You could ship in a nonmachinable. It's about $2.

He paid $9.95, so the right thing to do is for me to take the small loss (shipping it cost me $11.64) and consider it tuition.

Just for future reference. Or refund him the difference. Either or.

Shipping international helps me a ton because of using pwe or a nonmachiable bubble mailer. Not too much on sportlots but at least on eBay.

I know the sportlots site software is pretty antiquated, but I wonder if they ever thought about having a forum? In my opinion it would serve multiple purposes.

1. A place where questions could be asked and answered by forum members, which would save a small portion of the admins time because they would have a few less questions to answer.

2. As the forum grows it would undoubtedly drive traffic to the site.

Just some thoughts on a boring day when I should be listing instead.

Has anyone else seen a downturn in sales last 7-10 days ? If so any speculation why?

I was going to post this exact thing earlier today, but got distracted.

May was my best month ever (triple sales and triple dollar amount than of any other month), but it was definitely lopsided to the first 3 weeks of May. May closed out poorly, and only one order so far in June.

I think the nicer weather and the world starting to reopen a little has a lot to do with it.

Edited to add: I'm a tiny fish, so triple for me means 26 orders in May when my best month prior was 8.

My sales have actually been better the last two weeks than they were the first part of May

Part of that is 2020 Bowman which I anticipated however I though the percentage would be far higher than what it has been. Even without Bowman, I would be tracking above normal since (...say...) Memorial Day.

Question for all the Sportlots sellers here. How do you all go about managing prices on all of your cards. Sort of looking at 2 parts to this question.

1. When initially entering cards for sale. Do you mostly just reference and compare current pricing from other sellers on the site?

2. Existing inventory. As prices fluctuate, maybe based on a player having a good season, retiring, Fall of Fame nomination, etc... How often are you actively going through existing inventory and updating current pricing and is there a specific "method" or process you follow when updating?

Appreciate all the feedback!

1. Mostly yes. If there are few comps on Sportlots I'll check Ebay completed listings.

2. As I go thru I lower and raise prices. For example I've raised Griffey as I've listed new inventory. I let the old inventory sell as is. On the other hand I was listing 1999s and lowered Hamilton, Crawford, Dunn , Soriano .
