Yeah I got the same email. This time it’s really out of their control, so I understand that, but if any of these pre-orders get cancelled, he’s really going to rack up the interest over the next couple months.

And when they go up in value they will be“Damaged” and since it will be past the time you can open a dispute there’s nothing you can do to get your money back.

Open a dispute now and re buy when they ship.

Judging by those numbers you were 100% entitled to one of the damaged cases that have magically gone *poof.* For some reason he doesn’t even want to display the courtesy to address it head on, admit the mistake, and give an apology. Instead it’s just a constant effort to ignore and delete anything posted that references this whole situation.

Sorry, those tactics aren’t gonna work with me.

ORDER #1515

2019-20 Panini Donruss Optic Basketball Retail Box Case × 1

Considering the order numbers come out in seemingly chronological order, it would not be hard AT ALL to figure out who ordered first and deserves the cases, etc. I found the Optic really early and would like to think should have been in the "first half" that received order, but he already sent refund on that case with no explanation. Would be interesting to hear if anyone who received product could say what Order # they were, but I'm actually doubting he shipped "half" the orders, if any cases at all.
Stumbled upon this thread today reading through the Chronicles preview. I had the same terrible experience and issue with this seller.

I order a cello case on 11/24/19 (order #1579), never received it, and eventually got a refund. That's at least 3 of his supposed 4 cello cases that he didn't ship because 2 were damaged...

Here's my full timeline:
  • 11/24: Ordered and paid in full for Optic cello case.
  • 2/8: Sent email asking for a status update. Received a reply that day saying they expected to ship Friday (2/14).
  • 2/14: Sent an email at end of day asking for status update/tracking. Received a reply that day saying they would ship next week.
  • 2/19: Sent email asking for status update. Received reply stating they were due to arrive tomorrow.
  • 2/20: Sent email at end of day asking for update, since no tracking or reply. Did not receive a reply.
  • 2/21: Sent another email asking for status. No reply.
  • 2/22: Sent another email asking for status and stating that I still wanted the product, but that if they were unable to fulfill the order to please cancel. Received a reply about damaged cases and to check Facebook. I then replied that I don't have a FB account, to please send me updates via email, and asked about the replacement timeline. Did not receive a reply to that message.
  • 2/25: Sent email asking for status and timeline for replacement. No reply for several days.
  • 2/28: Received a refund and a reply that just said "A refund has been provided."

I was pretty upset at the time, mainly for the lack of transparency and communication. But I convinced myself it must have been an isolated issue and that I should drop it since I got a refund.

Knowing this is a more pervasive problem, and that they are still selling preorders, gets me heated again.

Does anyone know how to figure out what distributor would likely supply a specific locale? Or who would be the right point of contact for Panini's brand image? Figure maybe one of them might care about how the service this seller is providing with their wholesale products...

I always cringe a anytime I see this topic bumped back up to the top.

Sorry so many other people are continuing to have terrible experience with this fellow. Guy has made plenty of promises to myself and others that our Prizm & Optic orders are still "ours" when he receives them back from Panini at the original agreed-upon price; but we all know how that is going.

As previously stated, I'm absolutely always willing to extol the virtues of any company that rectifies a terrible experience for their customers, but there has been nothing of the sort here. After repeatedly acknowledging the mistakes and issues that were made with numerous customers on these boards, he's failed to do anything other than keep pumping out new ways to add $$ in his pocket.

I would strongly encourage anyone that has had unresolved issues to continue spreading the word and filing a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General:

funny timing on this thread getting bumped... I actually just received a response through the MO AG that says:

Josh: "We do not understand why this was filed as the customer already received all refunds that apply well before today."

AG: "We are providing you with a copy of correspondence received from the above-
the comments that they have provided, please provide a written response.
If we do not hear from you within the next thirty (30) days, our office will assume
that your complaint can be closed."

seems to me like they don't actually care. any tips for next steps?

Interest-free loans to float his business. It’s genius.

Interest free loans for his business or for himself?

Either way it is more of a pyramid scheme....

Yeah, unfortunately the efforts of filing the complaints don't seem to provide much relief for us on an individual basis, but should still help the 'greater good' if people continue to report issues. I don't think the MO AG is particularly interested in investing much time to one-off instances such as these, but trends definitely catch their attention if the same "business" continues to pop up. They've at least got a file on him now and is in the system.

Buyer beware!

I pre-ordered $14-15,000 worth of product from Josh Hall back in November. About $3,400 of that was retail & fast break Optic basketball, which was refunded weeks after release day, and only after I emailed him to do something. He said the distributors were to blame for cuts and he should've handled communication better. He assured me that my 8 cases of Bowman would be safe since he had never had a problem with his other distro's baseball pre-orders.

He sent out messages saying he only got 25% of his pre-orders from his baseball distributor, that he shipped in the order the pre-orders were received (mine was November 15th), and that he was waiting on the other 75%, which would be cut by up to 50%...but he wasn't sure when he was getting them...you can see where this is going...

So, I reached out to his baseball distributor. The GM told me that they closed pre-orders at the end of November, and everyone was notified of allocations two weeks later (in mid-December). He also said they cut pre-orders by 10% (after Topps notified them in May), but they had shipped out partial orders, then shipped the remainder that second week after Topps got caught up at the presses.

So, after realizing that Josh knew what his allocation would be in mid-December for Bowman Baseball, I asked for a refund this morning. I was refunded over $11,000, and now I'm blocked from posting on All About the Hobby's Facebook page (or DMing).

Josh Hall is not being truthful with his customers, and I want everyone to know it.

Unreal... I wish I could say that I'm surprised, but I am not. Even though it appears several of us have had the same experience, hopefully this will continue to get plenty of eyeballs and people will take their money elsewhere. Sorry for your experience.

I also just realized that I've issued more apologies in this thread than the dude scamming people's money. Weird how that works.

It's all good. I took a risk trying to support a small business, but I'll take my money elsewhere. I just want to make sure no one else makes the same mistake.

There's a bunch of people waiting on NT Basketball that are going to be irate. I think that was one of the last pre-orders before he shut them down.

Please continue to file with the State AG, I feel like there's enough of us now that it will catch their attention, especially with the tens of thousands of dollars involved.
