The 2013-14 Crosby pmg /10 sold for 10% of the 2012-13 one...

Sure...

I am very happy for you that you like 13-14 way better. Would love to see the ones you have in your collection.

Comparing them to the 12-13 basketball doesn't make sense as they weren't licensed. The hockey ones were. The 12-13 hockey PMG's are the first hockey PMG's ever and are licesned, similar to the 1997 basketball PMG's - first ever and licensed.
The winner does not have to pay and underbidder works together to create a higher price.

There's nothing similar to pmg's to 1997, they look like 12-13 retro basketball.

I don't care about the chipping either but they don't look good like 90s pmgs from basketball.

I have some 2012-13 sealed wax if you are interested.

Winner already paid. Underbidder and bidder don't know each other. I know both.

Design is similar. Insert name is same. Colors are similar. I have a 1997 Basketball PMG and can see for myself they are similar. They do look like the 1997's, not exact, but 1997 are what the 2012 hockey are based on. Anyway, no point in going back and forth anymore.

So while the magnitude of the prices are not ever going to align, the cards targeted are already aligning and hence we are seeing big value increases for some hockey inserts.
Ahh. Gotcha. Yeah for sure, I agree with that. Brand recognition across the entire hobby is huge and doesn't get much bigger than the greens #'d/10 in any sport that has them.

With the sale of this one its already put this card/set on the map for hockey.

I'm curious to see how much of an affect this sale will have for this set/card going forward.

And I love that this set has the chipping issues. Its a nice homage to the 97's

There's probably some smart collectors out there who saw the significance of these green PMGs and bought as many of them as they could. Now they're giddy with excitement at the price that the Crosby PMG sold for.

I’m definitely happy but it also means it’s harder for me to continue to buy these cards to complete the Green sets.

Is this a thread I should start up again? Have a huge collection of PMGs to showcase but I usually just post them to IG strictly.

So many people talking about PMGs as of late and thought I’d bump my thread with a few cards on my COMC / PWCC Vault and what I have out for grading.

HighGloss, I’m curious if you have a set of players you collect or you just try to snag whatever comes up. You’re collection is massive.

I was attempting to put together all years PMG Green and Purple /5 sets. Although I missed my opportunity on a couple Gretzky Greens and McDavid Green RC so it is out of the question now.

Believe I have over 200 Green & Purples if I am not mistaken.

seems like the hype on the new PMGs has caused an explosion for the older PMGs.

IMO, If UD puts these out every year... it will cement the early PMG prices and water down the newer ones.

well done UD HighGloss and Buff for having the foresight on your collections.

I have mixed feeling on this personally. The beauty of the 90s PMGs is that there are limited amounts due to only a 3 year span of production. So with more and more coming out it essentially waters down the over all demand for one specific year and give more options to collectors. Good to own one, bad for pricing on any year.

On the contrary as seen with other sets historically, it does drive the majority of dollars and interests to the inaugural set (Seen with Prizm, Exquisite, Cup, Topps Chrome, etc…).

So I am hesitant to say any certain out come moving forward regarding prices; But I will say the new Skybox has garnered a LOT of interest into Hockey PMGs.

Also appreciate the compliment. Was a lot of research before I started buying. Lots of comments in person, FB etc telling me I was dumb and should buy YGs and FWAs… lol. Too boring for me.

Super cool collection, High Gloss.

I was happy to take advantage of the epacks to comc flood and get a couple of the new Patrick Kane reds for my Kane collection and a Toews for good measure at some lovely prices. I also have a 2016 red kane. Want to get a green but my comc credit isn't there at the moment.
