Myself and the OP worked on this trade for quite some time, and at one point I backed out because I did not feel I was ready to trade my card yet. If I wanted to scam him I would have just agreed to any trade and not gone through all the time for this. When the package was delivered it did feel light and when I shook it there was no movement that I could feel. I immediately contacted the OP and told him about it. I suggested FaceTime and I showed him the package all around and asked him if this is how it was shipped. He said that it looked good, so I opened it and the package just had lots of bubble wrap.
I asked him if he was the one that shipped it and he said no, it was a friend or partner that mailed it for him. I asked is this person someone he trusts and he said he trusted this person. At that point I told him to contact FedEx and get a claim going ASAP, and I would hang onto the box as evidence.

I was told a long time ago by my Dad the most important thing we have is our family name and to never dishonour it. In my 52 years on this earth I have followed that and passed it on to my kids. I owned my own card store 30 years ago and my reputation is spotless in this hobby. To all of the people calling me a scammer, when this is over and done with you will be owing me an apology. I have bought/sold/traded with many people on this forum and hope to continue doing this going forward.
Do you have the weight of the package as you received it? Preferably a picture of it on a scale.

Then OP can show the weight FedEx shows, either online or on a printed receipt. If they match up, we know that the issue came somewhere before it got to FedEx and that the problem isn't with DoubleD or FedEx.

So someone else shipped/handled the cards for the OP? Wait, what? This info might have been a little important OP, dont you think?

So awesome when folks jump to conclusions before having more facts. Hard to know exactly what happened here but that shouldn’t stop folks from pointing fingers. I have a feeling we are in for a couple more twists and turns before the dust settles.

OP has to have record of the shipment. So please share a screen shot or photo of the specifics.

This whole thing is starting to turn around 180 degrees.

This^^^. Which is why I did not comment because I wanted to hear the other side of the story. I have seen some people here passing abrasive comments and jump on conclusions without knowing the facts. Haters are going to hate and in the end they will look like fools. This happened to me as well when I initially started collecting sports cards. I am not taking any sides here because I still do not know what exactly happened and who is telling the truth. Hope this is resolved in a fair way.

This is what seems to happen here, Everyone jumps to the side of the OP. Yes it's unfortunate but there are always more than one side of a story, Until all the facts are out there the benefit of doubt should be given.

This goes back to the weights posted by the OP. He was way under what he thought 5 slabs weighed. If the weight he initially quoted was what was on the label that his partner gave him..I think we know what happened.

This is true, every time I have ever had customs open up a package. They retape it up with a tape that says inspected and then I would had to pay customs and duties on that declared amount. I am kind of shocked that the customs did not stop and open it, because usually on higher valued items they get a nice chunk of taxes back.

Just weighed a small box with some bubble wrap inside and it came out to about 105 grams.

5 PSA cards in graded card sleeves. 211 grams. No packing material or package.

Simple picture of the receipt showing the weight of when the package was sent would solve one end of the issue. If it's definitely light then it's clear what happened. His friend didn't send them and he isn't that good of a friend. If he honestly left out in the OP and his friend was the one who packaged and shipped that's really discouraging because that's big info to be left out. We can't be positive that's what happened though, that's just what doubled said.

WOW!! Talk about leaving a huge part of the story out of the OP!! Sorry DoubleD, I should have most definitely waited for your side of the story!

Something tells me that there won’t be a receipt available and the guy who shipped it just gave the OP the tracking number. This is entirely on the OP at this point. If this so called friend is on these boards we need to know who it was.

I'm really not sure who should be staring at a wall for a few years, OP, DoubleD, or the mysterious friend/partner.
