I've been to around 30 wrestling shows and I can honestly say Double or Nothing was the best one I've seen live. There were several technical glitches and a couple mistakes, but the matches were top notch and the atmosphere in the arena was electric.

Good show. Predictable winners but the matches were still good. Cody taking an unprotected shot in 2019 is very stupid. You can tell Spears wanted to hold up when Cody turned his head.

And yeah the Cody thing was dumb especially because it took the attention away from the war he and Darby just had.

Didn't realize just how accustomed to the current Monday, and Tuesday " norm" I had become. Those 2 matches had me glued to my phone, more than the other product has had me glued to anything in a long time!

Both the unprotected chairshot to the head and the Darby Allin coffin drop spot were incredibly stupid and unsafe.

The Cody spot was apparently a work, but the prop chair had a piece essentially wrap around his skull and gash him. Makes sense cause it didn’t make sense with where he was hit/where blood was. No concussion. So yeah not smart but they weren’t as stupid as it looked. Great acting by Cody if true.
The Darby spot was so dumb though. I thought the first pre show match and the main card were good or better almost the entire time. I can’t think of one main show match I didn’t like, but it lacked the blowaway matches. |

I thought last nights show was really good. Didn’t watch it all since got a late jump so skipped a couple of matches.
4 way match was good. One thing I noticed is Jungle Boy is tiny compared to everyone else. MJF is a great heel too. I think he’s someone that the company could build around as a top heel. Cody VS Allen was good. I don’t mind the draw, it’s something you don’t ever see in WWE, so as long as they don’t do it often I think it’s a good finish. Helps Allen show he can hang with the big guys. The coffin dive or whatever, I nearly fell out of my chair, that was ridiculous and dumb. Plus I can’t help roll my eyes when commentators have to say, “the hardest part of the ring.” That headshot to Cody was pretty brutal, even if it was a gimmicked chair. The trios match was really fun to watch. I think the Lucha Bros are a lot of fun to watch. The only thing I rolled my eyes at was the Haduken spot, but I get it they were at a gaming convention. The Moxely/Janela match was brutal. I haven’t watched a hardcore match like that in years. I was yelling at my brother why do they have to bring thumb tacks! Then Janela getting his bare feet in there, I cringed a lot. I still thought it was good, you could tell both those guys were having fun, even if it was brutal to watch. I liked the end with Omega coming out and destroying Moxely, should lead to a really good match at All Out. Overall really fun show!

I caught most of the pre-show and it was pretty bad, downright awful in some spots.
Main show was better -- a bit of a non-stop spot-fest -- but if they can figure out better transitions between matches or just work in some basic mini-preview bits (clips or graphics) to introduce characters a tad it would help.

I had to re-watch it a few times to figure it out. The curved part of the chair back was what got him. He wasn't really hit in the back of the head or even on that side.

I thought the show was very average, at best. Moxley vs Janela was a HUGE letdown. That was by far the safest “hardcore” match that I have ever seen. There was nothing remotely extreme or hardcore about it.
Cody continues to be one of the most overrated wrestlers today... I have no clue why he is so popular. He managed to make a Darby Allin match boring. The chair shot by Spears after the match completely overshadowed the fact that Darby was able to go 20 minutes with one of AEW’s top stars. The Elite vs Lucha Bros & Laredo Kid was the most enjoyable match of the night. Penta & Fenix always put on a good show, no matter who they are wrestling. The Haduken spot was very cringeworthy... there were quite a few cringeworthy/embarrassing moments throughout the event. AEW seems to be built around inside jokes, sarcasm, spoofs, pop-culture references, and parodies... all of which has been very unfunny. |

The preshow was good for what it was, maybe shouldve had the 3 way tag go last as that was by far 1 of the better matches of the night...I was dissapointed with Bates/Allie... The hardcore match served its purpose for CEO I think you missed the point of the draw with Rhodes and Allin, it was SUPPOSED to make him look legit by going toe to toe for the time limit What else were you expecting from Mox and Janela? It had chair shots, barbed wire chair shots, barbed wire boards, table spots ,an insane ladder/table elbow spot, thumbtacks...What else can you include in a 20 minute match? As far as Omega and the Bucks, people seem to either love or hate them...But you realize this was a wrestling show at/during a fighting video game tournament , hence the ring gear and haduken spot |

I understand that the draw was SUPPOSED to make Darby look legit, but no one is talking about that today. The headline for every wrestling news site is the chair shot. Also, Cody hit the Cross Rhodes with a few seconds left and by using wrestling logic, you can assume that Cody would have pinned him if there was 1 more second left in the match. I have been a huge Darby Allin fan since he debuted in Evolve. Cody was a poor choice for his first AEW match if they really wanted to showcase his skills and athletic abilities. In regards to Mox/Janela... I am an avid fan of legit deathmatch wrestling, so maybe I was expecting too much. If you are familiar with their older work and see Moxley vs Janela being advertised in an unsanctioned match, you kind of expect to see several high-risk spots and blood... not just a couple of scratches on Moxley’s back, a few thumbtacks in the bottoms of Joey’s feet and the table/ladder spot. |

Pre-show was not good. And the main show was just a one match show for me, Bucks/Omega vs Lucha Bros/Laredo. Moxley is awful and his match was terrible.

I hope they keep doing PPVs on Saturday nights. I'm having a lot of fun getting together with friends and watching without having to worry about getting up for work the next morning.

Last night's show was definitely AEW's weakest offering so far. There were some good moments, but nothing memorable. Marvez and JR were both terrible on commentary. Excalibur needs a new partner desperately. Goldenboy was pretty good at Fyter Fest, but I think that was a one time deal.
Even though it might ruffle some feathers, Chris Jericho needs to win that title at All Out. Hangman is NOT a main eventer, and was getting some of the weakest reactions last night. Hangman will probably be main event worthy some day, but not right out of the gate. Also, get Brandi out of the ring ASAP. She can be fine as a heel manager for Awesome Kong and Cody (on the nights they flip the coin and it comes up heel for him) but she's terrible as a wrestler. Not really a fan of Spears pinning Allin either and killing the momentum he had going from the last show. |
