Year 1- Blow us away. Causing everyone to want in for year 2.
Year 2- Allow more members. Water it down as they know they can get away with it and increase profit.
Year 3- Bring us back in with better hits to compensate for larger print runs as they may lose customers from year 2 over saturation.
Year 4- They have their base. Higher than year 1 lower than 2 and adjusted up or down based on year 3. Happy medium.

When I first read it, I thought they were only going to allow 582 members (my reading comprehension fails me again). Yeah, my guess is 5000 or so.

I thought it was going to be 582 when I signed up. But then again, if that were the case, it probably would have been filled by now. If this "club" has more than 1k members, I would be a bit disappointed.

That's what I was thinking. At some point, someone showed good judgement by not allowing that design to be printed and released. Now, someone has shown very bad judgement by resurrecting it.
