There's been many threads on PWCC and it's profiting off of shipping, so when I stumbled upon this on a former PWCC employee's LinkedIn page, I thought it would be worthwhile to share.

I don't know if there's a seller on all of eBay that doesn't make some profit on shipping. Some just make more than others.

Well, that's not true.. We lose money on shipping for every single item order we ship. We charge $3.00. Cost $2.66 + $0.35 ebay/paypal fees + supplies/mailers and that doesn't even include labor.

Then it's a lousy business practice. Why not raise it to $3.50?

We aren't in the business of making money on shipping.

I don't profit from shipping. I charge $2.95 and combine shipping with no extra charge. I prefer happy customers.

I charge 1.50 regardless of the card. I do make a little on single PWE items but items over 8.00 I basically split the difference with the buyer.

Fascinating. Either a very poor choice of words or a nice exposure of their practices.

I now charge $3.50 for all normal weight bubble mailer items. Sometimes I lose on that with the new USPS zoning. Sometimes I come out ahead before considering the cost of supplies. I think my policy is fair.

Crazy to admit that. I thought me charging $9 and shipping PWE was bad but this is worse

Exactly. No one would fault any business for not wanting to lose money on shipping, something that is the responsibility of the buyer.

Raising it 50 cents would offend no one and would keep you from losing money.

It makes for a nice deduction come tax time.

also... good luck trying to report this; pwcc now has a page to look at old ebay sales.... which tells you they are in bed together

sounds about right for a thread on here

Doesn't really explain $30 shipping for a cheap box, but it was stated as $30 shipping, I will always bid based on shipping price stated. Their combined table for shipping is based on single cards, not boxes, which they should probably state somewhere and use a different listing template for boxes..
Bump.

Then again, I'm sure it'll happen. It'd probably take roughly 5 seconds of searching this forum...

I mean, anyone (myself included) who has ever bought from PWCC could have been a "victim" in this wonderful s-show.

I didnt read the entire thing...but this...

https://www.sportscollectorsdaily.co...altered-cards/

Sounds like there were a few ppl in cahoots here from PWCC and PSA to trim and grade. Kind of a big deal. Make sure you stop by PWCC and PSA booths at National for some future fun.

Add in frequent shilling and high prices. Dont trust PWCC. Period. I fear this gets buried on FB groups.

FWIW, PWCC is about to make the Scammers Exposed dqtabase list. Theres already a very lively, 600+ post discussion about it there. Let's make sure it doesnt get buried.

I have been told I am a "victim". I purchased many cards (not wax) from PWCC over the years and some cards that were purchased were indeed altered/trimmed (I don't know the specific cards, only that there were some). However, I haven't purchased much this year from PWCC. If there is anything purchased from me, that can be 100% traced back to this mess I will work the with buyer to get them a refund if requested.
