Hopefully there are still a few out there...as I still need one of these for my set.
The one that recently sold is BAS slabbed, but it appears to be aftermarket, as there is no gold sticker at all.

The auto doesn't look bad, but weird to see it signed in the exact same way as as the known stickered version.

That being said there are three authentic, legit stickered SNL autos that just showed up on eBay, a Farley, a Hartman, and Al Franken. All three match known examples.

Thank you for this great thread about this interesting series.

I'm on the lookout for an original cert signed/stickered:

Mike Myers
Adam Sandler
Tim Meadows
Rob Schneider
Kevin Nealon

And aftermarket signed:

Dana Carvey
Dennis Miller
Jan Hooks

I'm surprised that Dana Carvey didn't have an official signed/stickered card. He was the show's MVP in 1992! Some of the other 1980s-early 1990s cast had left the show by 1992 so I can understand why they didn't have an official signed/stickered card.

A full set of these 12 signed official cards sold on a lesser-known auction site:

https://gottahaverockandroll.com/199...-LOT58148.aspx

Winning bid was $3,750 + 26.5% buyer's fee. It would have likely sold for a lot more if it was on eBay.

Also I saw what appeared to be a bunch of fake signed aftermarket cards sold on eBay recently from what appears to be an established seller:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw...te=1&LH_Sold=1

None of the signature match their actual autographs and strangely he had signed cards for Dennis Miller, Jan Hooks, Dana Carvey, etc.

Possible fakes from other sellers also sold on eBay recently including a Farley and Chris Rock:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/29721966828...Bk9SR4y8t6TOZQ

https://www.ebay.com/itm/16592305741...Bk9SR4y8t6TOZQ

Has anyone ever seen aftermarket signed cards of cast members that weren't the 12 who had official signed cards (i.e. Dana Carvey, David Spade, Dennis Miller, Jan Hooks, Nora Dunn, Victoria Jackson, Jon Lovitz, Robert Smigel, Beth Cahill and the original cast members that were alive during/after 1992 i.e. Bill Murray, Jane Curtin, Dan Aykroyd, Garrett Morris)? I've seen a few signed Chevy Chase cards on eBay.

Thanks

I like to get these signed IP when possible…on your list, I have Carvey, Spade, Miller, Jackson plus Steve Martin…

I tried to get my personal favorite, Dana Carvey, at his most recent show which was at a smaller and out of the way venue but no luck at all.

Spade is coming to my city this summer but the venue won't accept items for autographs.

I got photos and ICs signed (separately) by Spade, Nealon and Schneider many years ago before I discovered the Star Pics cards.

I hope to find the ones you mentioned for sale + Nora Dunn and Jan Hooks.

Also worth mentioning that, assuming the Star Pics set came out during the 1992-1993 season, the following cast members of that season didn't have an official signed card:

Dana Carvey (seen on a lot of cards, the full list includes: Church Lady, cards #5-#7 and #90, Hans and Franz, cards #10-#12, Wayne's World, cards #28-#29, Carsenio #82, Johnny and Ed #83, Dylan and Petty #86, Jagger and Richards #91, McLaughlin #93, Regis and Kathie Lee #96, George H.W. Bush #115-#116, Grumpy Old Man #128, Dennis Miller #129). Dana Carvey left the show in February 1993 so if the signing event was after this date it makes sense why he didn't have an officially signed card.

David Spade (seen on Receptionist, card #56, Axl Rose #97, Dylan & Petty #86, Chia Head #134)

Robert Smigel (seen on Super Fans, card #3)

Melanie Hutsell (the only current cast member when this set was released to not appear on a card)

Additional notes:

-none of the Dick Ebersol-era cast had any cards (Eddie Murphy, Billy Crystal, Martin Short, Julia Louis-Dreyfus)

-no card for Father Guido Sarducci!

-John Belushi and Gilda Radner died before this card release so naturally they don't have signed cards

If this set had come out a little later or had a supplement set we could have gotten a Norm MacDonald card...

While obviously not a pack pulled auto from this set, I thought the group might enjoy seeing this one

Pretty cool!
Jack Handey also did the "Deep Thoughts" segments which were very popular.

Here's the card Phil Hartman would have signed for Inkworks "Small Soldiers".

Ha, well yes most people know him only from Deep Thoughts (or don't even know he was a real person/writer).
He's a genuis, he wrote Toonces/Happy Fun Ball/Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer/Pirate Birds/Magic Fish Town Hall and maybe my personal favorite Permission to Speak Freely

I don't have the 1983 Omni magazine where his work like that first appeared in print, but I have all of the National Lampoon magazines from 1984 where they were a semi-regular feature (and were first called "Deep Thoughts"). My favorite from SNL has to be the one about Disneyland burning down.

just wanted to shout out starpicssnl for these fantastic updates! the Farley PSA from the first link just got listed on eBay. A little high, but not a bad starting point I suppose.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/135835212735

The others from the set might get listed soon, but I hadn't seen them in my daily search as of the time of this post.

I got these through the mail in the mid 1990s, back when you could write to current and former (they would forward mail) cast members ayt 30 Rockefeller.

I've also gotten signed cards from cast members David Spade (on a Coneheads card), Dan Aykroyd (Ghostbusters and Coneheads), and Michael McKean (X-Files) TTM.

In the last couple of years I have tried unsuccessfully to get signed cards from Victoria Jackson, Laraine Newman, Al Franken, Ellen Cleghorne, Garrett Morris, Rob Schneider, and Bobby Moynihan TTM.

Wow amazing!

The pen quality they used is all over the place. The Superfans one looks the best in my opinion (and 3 autographs on one card!).

I wonder if anyone got Michael O'Donoghue's cards (Mr. Mike #71, Wolverines #78, Tina Turner #108) signed by him. That must be the rarest one if it exists as he died in 1994 and the SNL Star Pics card release was in 1992.

Did you mean someone else besides Bobby Moynihan? He was on SNL long after this release so naturally he didn't have a card unless you sent him a card from another set/unofficial release?

The Superfans card was sent to Smigel; he got the other signatures for me without me even asking for it (and it is one of my favorite cards in my collection).

The Bobby Moynihan card was a 2020 Topps Allen & Ginter.

Besides the Star Pics set, SNL cast members appear in many other sets. I mentioned Ghostbusters, Coneheads and X-Files above. I also know of:

Fred Armisen -- Parks and Recreation
Jim Belushi -- 1991-92 Pro Set Platinum Hockey
Jim Breuer -- 2016 Topps BB First Pitch
Billy Crystal -- Pop Century
Joan Cusack -- Pop Century
Pete Davidson -- Pop Century
Robert Downey Jr. -- Iron Man, asstd MCU
Brian Doyle-Murray -- Coneheads
Will Ferrell -- 1999 Cornerstone Austin Powers, 2015 Topps BB Archives
Will Forte -- Parks and Recreation
Gilbert Gottfried -- 2007 Donruss Americana
Christopher Guest -- 2000 This is Spinal Tap
Anthony Michael Hall -- 2004 Rittenhouse Dead Zone, Pop Century
David Koechner -- Pop Century
Julia Louis-Dreyfuss -- Donruss Americana, Pop Century
Norm MacDonald -- 2019 Rittenhouse The Orville
Laurie Metcalf -- Big Bang Theory
Jay Mohr -- Breygent Ghost Whisperer
Chris Parnell -- 2018 Cryptozoic Rick & Morty, 2024 UD Goodwin Champions
Joe Piscopo -- 2011 Rittenhouse The Complete ST:TNG
Amy Poehler -- Parks and Recreation
Randy Quaid -- 1996 Topps Widevision Independence Day, Pop Century
Horatio Sanz -- 2020 Topps Star Wars: The Mandalorian
Paul Shaffer -- 2000 This is Spinal Tap
Molly Shannon -- Donruss Americana
Harry Shearer -- 2000 Inkworks The Simpsons, 2000 This is Spinal Tap
Martin Short -- 2015 Panini Americana
Pamela Stephenson -- 1983 Topps Superman III
Damon Wayans -- 1992 Topps In Living Color

And I'm sure I missed a few.

If you start adding guest hosts, musical guests and special guest performers, you could add hundreds of sets to the list.

How many of these have certified autos?? That is the real question. I assume all of the Americana ones do. I guess I will do some research.

That Superfans auto is one of the coolest things I've ever seen on these boards, stunning!
Also, just as an SNL completest:

"1992-1993 cast/staff that didn’t have any cards:

Jack Handey (writer) but created Toonces #24-#26"

***Jack also wrote/created Happy Fun Ball, who has a card in the StarPics set!***

Thank you for the addition, I've updated the list.

Quite a few of them do. You can look them up on TCDB.com.

Default Ellen Cleghorne signed Queen Shenequa card

Does anyone have a scan of the Ellen Cleghorne card signed "Queen Shenequa"? I've never actually seen one.

Thanks

Is this newly posted PSA cert Farley legit? The sticker is placed over the signature. The PSA holder also does not say "authentic autograph" like it should - it appears that only the card is graded (NM 7) without authentication of the autograph? The listing also says pack-pulled, but as previously discussed in this thread, it seems that none of the cert signed cards were issued in packs.

Does the DNA notation not indicate authenticity? And if the autograph isn't legitimate, then the card is written on -- how could it get a 7 with such a defect?

I think the more recent PSA/DNA encapsulations say "authentic auto" but the older ones just say "PSA/DNA Certified" to indicate that the autograph has been authenticated. The NM 7 refers to the card grade, which is independent of the autograph.
