I probably wouldn't buy at a store...unless I came across one somewhere...I don't do comic/card shops anymore...I was considering buying a box...maybe even a case...but just too much a risk to try and get your money back.....I decided against it and just bought the 21

UDMatt... any chance for UD to experiment with daily print to order cards for nonsports ePack (ala Topps Now?).

For example, it would be cool if UD offered a special print to order base parallel (say purple foil?) for the Marvel Premier 2017 epack set. Offer up 5 base cards per day and after a 24 hour window the cards would be printed and foil stamped XX/### based on the number of cards of each base ordered over a 24 hour window. Could be a fun avenue for ePack to take. Any chance?

You could also offer an achievement and award a special card for those who collect and redeem all base parallel print to order base cards after the final day of the promotion (i.e. the last base card was made available). It could be fun.

I like this idea, the only thing I would add is that they need to be nice looking design and print, the print to order sets I have seen so far are pretty basic and don't really inspire continued collection unless you really really like the content.

Also 1 more thing - UD needs to be completely upfront about this, if you are going to do an achievement over time, thats fine, but dont tell people after its impossible for them to get.

*edit: Just had a thought, you could even do a 9-card puzzle each week that acted like a page of a comic book and do 10 of them over 10 weeks to complete the story - I would be up for that!

Seeing a problem with Spiderman at the moment in that if you want to collect a set of cards, you are being charged a minimum of $25 (100 card set) + postage to get them home.

I know this has been a problem with other sets, but I am noticing it more with this because every card is physical and most of the cards are only worth $0.05 so to pay an extra 5x the value of the card + shipping is just crazy.

There should be an option to redeem a set as 1 item, this would help clean things up a bit too, im sure this can't be too hard to implement being that you can already combine/redeem multiple cards into a single parallel or award and it would certainly make it better value to get a large set of cards sent to you.

Twice I've asked UD about custom printing for hockey and was told they weren't considering it. I'm not sure why they aren't except for the fact that it puts cards out there that then either can't be put into sets or if they are put into sets, won't have the same "buzz" around them, like 1st goal, rookie cards, etc.

It’s been about a year since this thread has been bumped and a lot more Marvel ePack sets and ePack exclusive cards have been released in that time with the very successful Agent Carter just hitting this week.

Who’s still holding out? And if you don’t ePack, do you participate in any of the group breaks on Blowout? If so, I would think Agent Carter would be right up your alley... $25 a “slot” with a 1:3 chance of pulling a sketch! Most group breaks cost more than that with longer odds for a sketch.

I love the trading aspect of the ePack website. I’ve been on it 2 years and have completed nearly 2,000 trades! It’s fun interacting with other fans, making trades, combining cards to make an ePack exclusive parallel, and also buying packs whenever the whim hits.

Not reading anything else in this thread, just responding to the OP's post.....

Because they're A LOT smarter than those of us who do!

Because there is no more 2016 MM, prices are high, odds are long.

I actually might consider buying AC if I wasn't almost totally out of card collection, or if there was anybody I wanted besides Atwell.

I bought two boxes of Agent Carter because that was the only way to get any of this set.

Other than that, I haven't purchased any other items on epack. But I do try to get a few free cards per week.

LOL, I got my first 'you must be a noob' trade rejection. He wanted to steal my cards, I countered to steal his sketches, and then he declined with 'I just wanted to help you out because you're unrated'

I don't collect sticker autographs, and every ud epack release is stickers. I also am unsure about how many cards are actually physical and if some are ecards? I see WWE ecards listed all the time. This is the pinnacle of collecting idiocy. I just learned about the shipping price to get the cards transferred....not good. Finally, I like to open packs in front of me when I actually break a box (once every couple of years as I currently cherry pick others' breaks on EBay and just get the good stuff).

depends on the set, not all autos are stickers... and the WWE you are looking at is probably the Topps Card Trader apps, those are purely digital.
On epack you can get both physical and digital, there is an icon on the bottom left that distinguishes them. But ALL digital can be converted into physical, you just have to collect enough of the same card and convert it, or collect a set and redeem them for an award.
As for the shipping, yes, that part sucks the most.

I've gotten some really ridiculous trade offers recently.

I'm debating if I should block people who send them, call them out on the chat, give them low ratings, or just ignore them.

My main reason for no longer buying epacks...shipping costs.

I opened a ton of packs, have over 500 cards to ship and they want me to pay $130 plus sleeving and toploading fees?

Use a couple of medium/large flat rate boxes from USPS and the cost would be under $60, I do this all the time.

No longer going to be buying cards I have to pay overpriced shipping for to ever get in hand.

I first thought it was dumb to buy in, but then caved. It can be addictive, especially if you get hot or go cold.

They do need to change the shipping charges per card, especially for complete sets.
I finished a master set of Euroleague basketball and it was really expensive to have shipped. With something like this, they don't have to take a long time to pull each card, they should have them all in rows together.

Yup, this is a big issue, one I have a problem with even though I buy on ePack because I'm a degenerate hit chaser. There needs to be a "max out" on shipping costs because after a while it's just not realistic. Basically I only buy ePack for the hits. Any sketches/autos/relics I have sent and everything else, even inserts, are basically trash that will be lost to the internet forever. It makes set collecting much more costly than it should be.

A MAJOR problem. At a minimum UD/COMC should give a discount for shipping completed sets (also need to make it easier to send a complete set to the transfer area - that should be a one-click operation).

It really is addictive as I've already spent too much for what I've pulled.

Simple... I only collect Star Wars. And I don’t buy pack. I just buy from those who do...

I could get behind this. Took me hours to set my Goodwin Master Set to ship.

Why are the epack prices as high or higher than physical packs when there is a good chance that some of the epack cards won’t have to be produced because people won’t want them shipped?

because of achievements.... collect a set and redeem it for an award card that can be pulled in any pack. Or the ability to take the worthless digital base and meld them into silver or gold foil, or whatever color they go with.
