I havent bought a box in probably 5 years. Open blasters a few times a year. I was recently in Houston and decided to go to a hobby shop which i havent been to in even longer. I was kind of shocked at loose pack prices. Couldnt leave with nothing so decided to pick up a 25 Topps hobby box for 99 plus tax. I was glad to receive an auto and not a relic.

Quite similar to Westburg’s photo last year. Topps definitely not showing any love towards Orioles rookie infielders.

Three numbered cards and I still don’t have a full base set.

Why are hobby boxes selling for 120+ on ebay when you can buy them on topps for $90?

Finished opening my 2 hobby boxes and 2 blasters. Came out with:

2 golds /2025
1 Purple Foil /250
1 Blue Foil /150

No notable names for any of the above.

1 1990 Relic of Lawrence Butler
1 City Connections Relic Gold /50 of Pablo Lopez

Have sorted the cards numbered 300+ and am missing about 10 of them, and have thrown out about 10 of them as well for edge/corner damage.

Even with beating the odds on the gold relic, it was a pretty bad break with the base collation and condition issues. But that's what Series 1 is these days!

Sad to change it from the traditional one, but at least the replacement is nice looking in its own right.

I like that a lot, but sad to see the purples gone… although they probably would have been a purple foil anyway, which I don’t really like.

I, for one, am glad to see all the lazy colored border parallels going the way of the dodo in favor of some new flavor. I don't have to like to look of each new parallel, but at least they are trying some new things like they did in the greatest era in baseball cards (late 90s). I don't care if it's black, purple, or periwinkle. and I don't care how much "tradition" the color has. Changing the border color and calling it a parallel is lazy and crappy. Good riddance.

yeah but good luck trying to search for any specific parallels you’re looking for on ebay, moving forward. it was already getting tough with various foil boards/holos/cracked ices, and pink/magenta/fuschia, etc. I don’t even know what all these new patterns are yet, and most average joes pulling and listing them are gonna call them all kinds of things. It’s just going to be a giant morass on ebay at this point

The tracker will be growing exponentially, and soon, perhaps as quickly as Series 2. I sent Topps a list over 4,000 new variations and they accepted all of them! I'm looking forward to collecting my Dodger cards in Creamy Nectar Spirals /97.
