Just had that same discussion with somebody. When you put it in perspective, it's an outlandish pull.

My wife pre-ordered me one hobby box from Blowout as a bday gift. It arrived today.

I'm still a bit dumbfounded, but literally in the very first pack I opened I hit a Topps 70th Anniversary Buyback Redemption for 1993. Hobby odds of 1:92,596 packs.

My understanding is there's literally one buyback redemption for each year. So 70 different 1/1's... one card for each year from all the years Topps has made cards.

Gotta think 1993 would be Jeter, right? I'm a Yankees fan so fingers crossed. It's a redemption because Topps is shipping it encased. By far, the best hit of my life if that's what it ends up being.

It's unreal someone is going to pull a 1952 redemption. If that's a Mantle it's a pure lottery win. I'd openly weep. lol!

i think flagship is a superior product to every other in existence but i hate everything about this years flagship. the design sucks except for some of the autos. the centering has already shown the be a significant issue and the print run is going to be the through the roof. i have ripped flagship and bought a lot of the rookies i like very year for a while but that wont be the case this year. i will pick up a couple og parallels of red sox and the rookies i like. moral of the story, this years flagship is dog crap in the form of candy. many will eat it but it aint going to taste good going down or coming back up.

Optic football centering looks like it’s all over the place as well. Putting my tinfoil hat on but do you think it’s intentional? reduce the number of psa 10s in circulation in hopes of getting more press attracted to the record high sale prices?

I was in a couple Optic breaks and this exact thought crossed my mind....One would think in this day and age of technology that quality assurance would be better and there would not be horribly off-centered cards or print lines or dimples. I even went through my Optic and Prizm cards from 2019 for comparison and while anecdotal, I don’t think this theory/thought is out of the real of possible.

Certainly not out of the question. It increases the gambling aspect and pushes sales.

Agreed that if the Pop Report is a fraction of what it typically is then 10s in theory will be priced very high.

I could even imagine this helping out PSA and reverting back to vintage in that PSA 9s and possibly 8s (unless QC does get better) could sell for more than a raw card.

It will also increase people who return on eBay because they buy raw and hope to grade/flip.

It looks like he just pulled the ball out of the cup.

It might be intentional-ish. In years past they had to cater to the collector so quality mattered over quantity. Fast forward to 2020 where literally everything sells out, and not only sells out but at higher prices. Why would they spend the time and money to QC when it’ll sell regardless. I work in the printing/production industry and we throw away A LOT to pick the best prints. I doubt these companies are throwing anything away these days.

Sorry if this has been answered already. With the SP's, are they turned backwards in the packs?

Flagship is starting to look like a NASCAR car. Too many Graphics, fish scales, barcodes, randomly placed logos, Anniversary dates and barely enough room for the players name. 2022's design might not even have room for the players photo.

My one and only series 1 blaster I've opened so far seemed to contain every rookie we are looking for.
Adell, Mize , Bart, Carlson, Sixto, Garcia, Pearson, Stephenson.
No keibert or Madrigal.

Collation?

They did not waste anytime getting this out to retail. This Target always has had everything and ive never seen this much put out of one product at once. All SKUs. To the left they had full rows of TCU Megas as well.

2022?? Just wait for the Topps chrome parallels and Baller ETC garbage to roll out. It’s ridiculous
